I was at the museum and houses myself . And the Sunken ones felt damp and cold . The Proposed house design was a lot more spaceful and warm

My house is a stone cottage in England, it is over 500 years old, the dining room has a wooden floor with a large space under it, about 2 feet or more deep, the rest has flags stones, sometimes damp comes up under and between the flagstones, but that doesn't happen in the dining room because of the large gap beneath, just a thought, damp is a major issue in England and it used to be worse when there was a lot more marsh land.

Some of those homes look identical to the first cottages at Jamestowne.

In all likelihood some of the people who settled in Jamestown were descended from people who lived at West Stow.
