The percussion in this version surprised me, not sure yet which I prefer. Either way glad the album is finally out.

Im loving all the complex and unexpected key shifts esp in the first minute or two. So different from much of current stuff being put out there nowadays where the music seems to be just "phoned in" .... I'm looking at you Miley "I can buy myself flowers" Cyrus.

What a stunning song... Stopped me in my tracks when Spotify played it for me after listening to some Nation of Language (more gorgeous 80s tinged music). I went back and discovered the original single which is brilliant too but just lacks the ecstatic building and layering to the finish before it all drops away again. Now I'm obsessed by the album... Amazing work and I look forward to hearing what comes next!

Listened all the time during 2017, the other day it appeared on Spotify as a suggestion track, and then it all came back. Amazing how music takes you back to other times. But I never heard this version, it’s amazing! Which version is this?

In love with this track, actually prefer the album version to the single. The additional elements make it so much more ethereal and captivating, in my opinion. Love the new album, Westerman, it’s been a light in the darkness during these crazy times. Thank you!

the original is making more sense, maybe I'm used to it, but this one sounded a bit odd when the basic drum/snare came in. it takes away a bit of the charm of it

I have to say I much prefer the original release. This version feels too polished and overmixed - particularly the drums. I feel like they just don't suit the song, and the beat gets boring very quickly. Still a good song but the original feels more authentic and... well, original.

It may also depend on which version you hear first. For me, I heard the 2020 version first and thought it was absolutely sublime and then later found the original and thought "oh this is also nice" but it didn't have quite the same impact.
@ikeartfilms77834 жыл бұрын
@@breadmaker might be on to something there. I too heard the original version first and prefer it over this one. Both are good, but it just depends which one made an impression on the listener first

I actually found the single first, but I like the album version more. It just feels like it reached the original’s potential
