I admit this is a pretty bad video, and it's unfair to 'review' a product based on my old, used example (which doesn't function too well), but I felt it was worth making a quick video since there isn't a whole lot of info out there about these short Beretta 92s. For £45 it's probably the cheapest GBB I have ever bought, but despite it's age and poor function, the WA quality shines through. With a new gas router (£5), this could be a fine skirmish pistol, at the price of a cheapo NBB. Great quality, weight and very nice plastics used - If you ever see a working WA for under £50....get it!

You can make it gas efficient again by checking/doing 3 things: first check the rubber on the magazine if it's damaged, if so you can replace it with a guarder one - they are still available, 2nd only use 134a or max 144a in wa berettas, they are much more efficient with the lower pressured gas because of the valve knocker mechanism - if you are using higher pressure gas youll likely see that much more gas will be wasted and most importantly this leads to cooldown and damage your magazine sealing rubber, and lastly if that is an older version of WA beretta, after some time the parts get a little loose especially after using the airsoft a lot. A common issue with WA berettas is that after some time the seal between blowback unit and rubber on the magazine gets worse and worse because the magazine isnt held properly inside the gun, you can check that if you try to move it a little while having it in your gun. Now, what you can try is to push the magazine up a little while shooting lower pressure gas, and that way I could improve gas efficiency on a very old wa beretta (16 years) from 10 shots up to 31 shots with a newer type magazine (same as yours) and the slide catch worked until about 28-29 shots. At the beginning i thought the airsoft would never function as intended again but those are some things I found out after doing lots of stuff to it and this is what helped the most. Keep it up!

One other thing to note is that the locking lugs ACTUALLY move down from those cutout's in the slide. Typically they only go high enough that they don't prohibit the slide's movement. On a RS m92fs the pressure instantly puts a vast amount of pressure/force on the breech face (in airsofts case, the nozzle) and the locking lugs retard the slide's movement until the bullet has left the muzzle meaning the pressure has dropped to a save level which drops the locking lugs out of the way and the slide cycles.

For HW plastics, when u rub off the surface it appears silvery -> that is because that specific part of the revolver is made of metal! otherwise for example the barrel, when rubbed off wont give off that silver colour. The tanaka revolver - cylinder, the trigger and hammer, the cylinder release, is made of metal, other parts are made of ABS heavyweight plastic

I've owned a number of HW guns and rubbing down the HW plastics components will produce a metallic finish. There is zinc mixed into the plastic, some Japanese guys are so skilled at polishing and finishing it that it looks like genuine blued steel.

@@ApurtureSci true the abs plastic has metal particles in it. The jupiter finish ones are the most amazing!

the reason the mag is like that is because every other gbb pistol can't be docked completely past half-cock without putting/resting the valve knocker on the release valve. Decocker's always decock to half-cock but RS firearms can be manually de-cocked to the point they are resting on the firing pin. Airsoft guns will discharge if you attempted this.

You mentioned that the m9a1 finish started to wear.Did the finish start showing black spots under the silver/inox ? Thanks!

Yes some of the high spots (tips of the grip serrations etc.) started to wear though to reveal black. Wasn't a huge issue but enough to annoy me!

Hey I was wondering how this compares to your Marui M9A1 now you have or had both of them at the same time, I'm fairly new to airsoft, I'd heard of Western Arms but I didn't realise they were originally top dog.

It's inferior to the new M9A1s, but back 15 years ago when these were new, they were better than the old TM Berettas, and heavier/more solid than the KSC versions. Back then WA used to be the premium GBB manufacturer, and have produced many hundreds of different models over the years. KSC was a mid-range brand, good quality at less-than-WA prices, and TM were considered a cheaper company with creaky, plasticy NBBs and very early GBBs. This has obviously changed over the last decade and they make the best overall GBBs. WA are much smaller now, and make expensive limited editions guns. Cheap metal clones have proved too popular to contend with, not many skirmishers wants expensive, ultra high quality Japanese guns anymore. Newer TMs are superior overall, but WAs are made very well, and are very collectible. They are quite primitive internally and don't hold up to high powered gases well.. Their M4 GBBR was popular too, although there are so many clones of it by G&P etc. that original WAs are hard to find (and not really desirable). I've owned 3 WA pistols, and so far this Beretta is the only one that hasn't started to destroy itself (I don't use 134a gas) - they're not all that tough. Nice replicas though, especially for unique guns that nobody else makes.

***** Thanks :D, It's too bad you don't have more money to make more reviews haha, these really are full of information you could only gain through lots of first hand experience.

I'm in a good position for reviews right now actually. Today I'm getting the brand new KJW/ASG CZ P09 Duty delivered, which will hopefully be the first proper in depth video review of the gun online. Also just got a cool 8mm Marushin Mauser M712 GBB Carbine, and I ordered a Marushin M1892 Winchester Gold/DX, both of which there is virtually no information about online, so I'll be reviewing those.

Trigger springs seem to break very easily with both real and airsoft Berettas. I've broken a number myself.

I have a real 92D Centurion, but I really wish I had the FS Centurion. The D model is pretty rare, but it's double-action only with a long (but smooth) 11-pound trigger pull. Definitely not ideal.

Yes the M9A1s do, I may not have made it clear but I was referring to the original TM M92f series, that was made around the same time as these WAs. The decockers on those just act as safeties.

The reason people sold these for so little money is because neither they are collector nor they know how to make them work... sadly.

Okay i appreciate the positive reply but it is a very very long vid the reason why I say about knowledge is becsuse there isn't in depth introduction of let's say the history of the wa or real steel series of Beretta pistols or the authenticity of the markings or advantages wa has and many many other informative things you could have said thats why pls take some of this in consider and you will make excellent vids

I disagree myself. I think the videos are excellent. Very calmly presented and insightful. I’ve just bought a We cheetah and referred to his video to understand how all the functions work. One aspect you did mention that would be interesting to expand on, would be a little series on the history of airsoft and or the manufacturers would be neat and unique. Haven’t found much of that on KZbin. I’m sure there’s some obscure companies or real budget companies that have come and gone. I’m more interested in them as intricate mechanical curiosities (a bit like watches) than the skirmish side so this channel ticks the boxes.
