Oscar Allen is a gun and only 24. Things aren’t so grim for the Eagles. Was a good day for Simmo as well, and a great win.

If I hadn't seen the Essendon game, I would have said that this was the worst effort game from a team this round. The dogs looked so flat, they didn't want to defend and they got punished for it. Full credit to the eagles though, they looked hungrier in the key aspects of the match, ground ball, contested possessions. Can we also appreciate how dedicated west coast fans are.

Eagles member here: thank you for the compliment. It's genuinely appreciated. But i must also say that i feel the same way about Bombers fans. They've had to put up with crap for years (including the injections scandal) and still are fiercely loyal and supportive of their club.

I had a feeling before the game that Doggies would mess up, and well 💁🏼‍♀️. Basketcase club, and the gag is that Doggies’ theme for the round was “Thank You Members” 🙃🤣🤣🤣🤣 🤣 Even had merch created 😂😂😂 Like so many have said, Bont’s prime years are being wasted.

Where did this come from? West Coast just completely upset the Finals race. One of the upsets of 2023. They didn't want that wooden spoon, so they just decided "f*** it, we are not finishing last" and stunned the Dogs. Jamie Cripps, without your five-goal haul, your Eagles would not have survived. Well done, Crippa. You may have just single-handedly saved your coach, and maybe the careers of some of your teammates. Bulldogs, what the f***? What the f***? What. The. F***? For the third time in four weeks, you threw away a winnable game that would've got you a guaranteed Finals position. That Round 20 Ballarat match against the Greater Western Sydney Giants where you blew a 35-point third quarter lead? (I'll show you: 52 to 17!) Lost by five points, although GWS were fighting to save their season. That Round 22 UTAS Stadium match against the bottom-four Hawthorn Hawks? Lost by three points! Now you lose to the then-last-placed West Coast Eagles by seven points. And it was at home!! If you don't make the Finals, it's on you. You better pray that you beat Geelong and then Carlton beats the Giants, who can actually make the Finals with even a draw. You deserved to get booed off of Marvel Stadium for your efforts. The Bev Show would not be happy with this.

Tim Kelly said that this win was for Adam Simpson. So what was the week before that against the Dockers? And all those other smashings? It's widely understood that Adam Simpson told the players before the Bulldogs game that they were playing for their careers. So, finally, they had to have some accountability and look what it produced: a stirring victory. Shows that this team is actually capable of being competitive when they want to be. Now it's time to find a coach who will make them accountable EVERY game. And reports that West Coast fans are overwhelmingly supporting Simpson are greatly exaggerated. If you look at social media comments, listen to talkback radio and speak to fans face-to-face, just as many of us, if not more of us, want to see a new senior coach brought in.

The AA definition of insanity is keeping on doing what is not working yet expect a different result. The stagnant chipping the ball around has been the WB's lame plan since 2016. What a waste of talent. As I see it, my team, the WB, has a myriad of problems, the top three being... 1. A coach that seems to have irreversibly lost his way. 2. A footy club that has a clueless recruiting staff (sooo many sub-VFL level players in the list). 3. The laziest forward line in the league: if the ball is not delivered to them perfectly, they become non-competetive. I'm still waiting for someone to explain to me why half the team stands out alone, grass watching and not manning up when the opposition has control of the ball.
