Western lowland gorilla running near Ngaga Camp, Republic of the Congo

Ngaga Camp is one of the incredible lodges operated by the Congo Conservation Company. Ndzehi Concession is near Odzala-Kokoua National Park, in the northern Republic of the Congo.
This male western lowland gorilla was part of a family which had been habituated to humans by local trackers. Our tracker told us that this male was now on his own. Apparently 60 gorilla families live on the Concession, with 3 of them habituated to humans for purposes of education and study. Trackers spend years habituating these families.
