Been a life long fan of Westerns and so far I’ve only heard about half of these.

They are a lot of fun. I grew up watching the old black and white westerns with my grandpa. He loved Henry Fonda, and I must have watched The Oxbow Incident about ten times with him. I miss my grandpa, but the memories still live on. Thanks for watching/commenting bro. It means a lot.

Todd, impressive collection of westerns. Especially the Wild East section, I have less than 10 of those. Surprised by some ommissions, though. What about THE WILD BUNCH, RIDE THE HIGH COUNTRY, RED RIVER, WAGONMASTER, RIO GRANDE, FORTY GUNS, VERA CRUZ, MAN OF THE WEST, ONE EYED JACKS and SHE WORE A YELLOW RIBBON? I know you have the Boeeticher set, but how about SEVEN MEN FROM NOW, a Batjac release that is the first of the series and one of the best (with Gail Russell and Lee Marvin). Also, as far as tv, I strongly recommend MAVERICK (the first 3 seasons with James Garner particularly, but I have them all) and HAVE GUN WILL TRAVEL. MAVERICK took about half a season to develop into a great character with often incredible scripts. I also like CHEYENNE, which was a weekly b-western with no continuity from week to week, except the main character was Cheyenne Brodie and he was played by Clint Walker. Realize some of these may not be your cup of java, but these movies and tv shows mean a lot to me.

Hey Erik, thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate the suggestions. There are a few titles I forgot to show in this video. The complete Sartana from Arrow, a few Criterion releases including One Eyed Jacks, and a few others. It’s an ever growing collection so new titles will be added periodically. I can’t buy everything at once 😆 I do appreciate the feedback, it means a lot. Thanks for watching and have a good day 👍

@@ToddEWalnuts 1) After searching the web at lunch today, I believe this video is the only place on the web where you can get a list of all of Wild East's releases (along with what their covers look like). They don't have that info on their web page. So, thanks! 2) The Sartana box from Arrow is excellent, as I think all of their Italian western releases have been. (Don't think you can save the same for their horror titles, which are MOSTLY excellent, with a couple of duds. 3) I would also strongly recommend MCCABE AND MRS. MILLER (Criterion blu-ray) and THE MAN WHO SHOT LIBERTY VALANCE.

I know that, my favorite western is definitely, The good, the bad and the ugly!
@ToddEWalnuts4 жыл бұрын
I like it but I feel like it’s overrated, and most people have only watched a few westerns and that’s the one they remember. There are better westerns than The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly, but it’s still a very good movie.
@user-pf7qg9lc6p4 жыл бұрын
@@ToddEWalnuts maybe it's little bit overrated, i like only, The good, the bad and the ugly and a few dollars more, my opinion, fistful of dollars is overrated, it's not that good.

Great to see all these Westerns, plenty to check out. I would love to see like a top 10 Western recommendation. Here are some more modern TV westerns with all their cheese that I have liked: Jack Bull (1999), In Pursuit of Honor (1995), el Diablo (1990) with Anthony Edward and Louis Gossett Jr, Purgatory (1999)

I will do a top 10 or 25 list at some point soon. Thank you for the recommendations.

Hi Todd, always cool to see Western fans out there showing their collections. Nice looking boxsets, impressive Wild East collection. “The great silence” film movement release is a U.S release & has a beautiful transfer, English audio included. “My name is nobody” is my favourite spaghetti western comedy. “Pat Garrett & Billy the kid” needs a blu ray release. A fine collection 👍😎

Added 100 Rifles, More Dead Than Alive and The Revengers to my wish list. Filmmovement is a NA distributor so The Great Silence does have a english audio.

Awesome vid. Probably my favourite film genre. Really like what Arrow has been doing recently with Westerns in particular (Keoma, Django, The Grand Duel, etc.). Can't wait for their release of The Far Country next month.

Thank you, I appreciate the feedback. I wasn’t sure how well this video would go over as I usually talk about horror films on this channel. I’m glad you enjoyed it. I love what Arrow does too, and I’m looking forward to future releases.

Todd E Walnuts I like horror, but Westerns (and crime films) are my favourite. As a Brit the American subject matter is always fascinating. Also, that Film Movement copy of The Great Silence does indeed have the English dub on it. They’re a North American company actually, great release from them.

Todd E Walnuts Also, one release that I don’t think I saw is Sam Peckinpah’s Ride the High Country. Really great Western and Warner Archive put out a fantastic blu-ray for it in 2017.
