Western Sydney Airport and Metro Stations October 2024 Update Australia

G'day here is the October 2024 Update .
This update also includes the Stabling yard near Orchard Hills Station.
The M12 is also progressing well.
The Airport is nearing practical completion looking from the outside .

I and maybe many others would like a sneak peak inside the the airport terminal . Alas thank you very much for your updates. Have you thought of air traffic control centre at Eastern creek / Minchenberry ? Which ever .

Hope there’s sufficient customer parking ,like when Leppington train station opened there wasn’t enough from day one even now with the multi story parking still struggles.

The estimated (early years) need is for up to 11,500 spaces, so 12,500 are being provided for stage 1. That includes for passengers, workers at the airport / airport business park, rental cars, taxi holding areas, and emergency service related areas. The ultimate provision for the fully expanded airport by the 2060s is for 70,000 spaces. For comparison, the new Leppington station multi-storey car park can hold about 1000 vehicles.

Looking at parking provisions and keeping in mind the green impact design ,I think that is on a collision course . I feel an airport of this nature need to provide for at least 1000 parking spaces minimum . Not all will come by trains, buses and taxis.

At Bradfield city and stmarys, the 2 ends of the line the trains need to crossover to the other line and head back the other direction

You can't be serious. Only QF and SQ so far booked to use it. It could be expanded later but no need now

It's planned to become bigger than the current airport in the long run, but for now it'll act as a secondary airport to the current one.

This all being built with Taxpayers money. Airport profits will build the rest as needed.

You were right when you thought it would be bigger. It will be. If you want to see for yourself, search online for Western Sydney Airport Site Layout 10MAP (10 million annual passengers in about 2030) and 82 MAP (82 million annual passengers in about 2060s). The latter is with two parallel runways giving about the same capacity as London Heathrow. With only a single runway its capacity is up to about 37 million. In its first couple of years it will handle around the same as Canberra (3 million) or Gold Coast (7 million).
