I am bi and Gweilo is right! While they do have LGBT in China, its not shoved in your face like it is in the western countries. There's a lot of pressure from family to marry and have children. Aside from that society doesn't really seem to care all that much. Its not illegal to be LGBT but-unlike in America-this 1-4% of the population doesn't get to run the show for everyone else. When I lived in China, I got the impression that the Chinese people were "libertarian" on the LGBT issue-you do you and I'll do me, as long as you respect me I'll respect you. As a bisexual man, I think China has a healthier approach to LGBT than my own country (USA). The problem in the west is that the goalposts are moved so far left that anything other than celebration is considered to be homophobic. Basically, if you are LGBT you are still welcome in China. You can even be open about it. No one will harass you. China is more tolerant than most of Eastern Europe and Latin America.

I have taught both in my teaching stint in China. Teachers and students were aware of them and accepted their choice. Shanghai and Guangzhou have gay events.. Numuves has a video on his channel. China sucks at hating gays. They're repainting some crosswalks with fricken rainbow's at a cost of around 10-30 thousand taxpayers dollars depending on the size! A couple of months ago someone did a burnout (with a car) over a rainbow crosswalk and it made the local news as a hate crime...lol!!!! Keep up the great videos!

I’ve got gay and lesbian friends and I respect their choices. What I don’t like is how North American (Can/US) pushes the Woke and DEI agendas in the society and especially movies/entertainment. Example almost all Disney content these days are woke/dei crap. I cancelled my Disney+ subscription as kids content are so woke/dei and even Star Wars. I’m planning to re-patriot back to Canada next year with my family. Been living in HK for almost 25 years. I’m a 2nd generation Canadian born Chinese. This is one big reason I am hesitant about moving back. I don’t want my 4 and 2 yr olds exposed to these ideologies. Also, even though I am Canadian born, I’ve always been discriminated against in Canada especially in the work place. Big reason why I left Canada. I don’t want my kids to experience that. Though the discrimination did toughen me growing up in the 80s and 90s

I would think twice about moving to Canada. The world over there has changed where drugs are legal and homelessness is rampant. Crime is up and safety is down.
