其實歐洲人反而唔係咁介意亞洲人有口音，本身亞洲人都多，大家亦都習慣同包容。反而香港人英文塔利班多過其他國家，自己笑返自己人。

我諗係一啲啲人，近年英國多咗世界各地新移民，本身都有口音。另外就睇交情，朋友梗係唔會太介意。真實中人類係有排外性，西人聽到外地人口音都會覺得「哽耳」，當然唔會講明俾你知啦，但衰啲就會專燈「棟起隻耳」嚟聽，俾表情你睇，無文化嗰啲就會模仿你發音，ED 都係常有發生，唔發生先係唔正常。。。香港人都笑大陸人唔正粵語，洋人一樣有，睇你遇遇到啫。

@@kclee1658 語言首要用嚟溝通，學識基本功執正啲文法, 再有要求高啲可以改善一下口音嘅。其實非母語人士要完全擺脫口音係幾困難，略略改善一下主要唔想俾人笑同埋真係努力試過已經對自己有交代啦。

所以我好感激我中學校長，佢喺開學簡介會個陣表明我地嘅中學（英中），會請嚟自唔同國家嘅老師嚟教英文：印度人、巴基斯坦人、英國人、美國人，加拿大人同埋澳洲人。因為英文嘅口音唔止得一種，我想班學生第時大個出到去呢個世界，可以適應到唔同嘅英文口音。佢又直接指出好多香港家長成日好睇重間學校嘅英文老師，係咪嚟自英國/美國，唔想比啲小朋友接觸到其他口音😅 其實真係好錯嘅一件事。我到依家都好多謝呢間中學同校長，到我出咗嚟做嘢成日都接觸好多唔同國家嘅客人，我中學比巴基斯坦老師同埋印度老師教過幾年，依家聽佢地講英文先會輕鬆好多！（唔可以話完全無難度😂）所以口音係有好多種，好多香港人驚自己香港口音重，唔敢講英文都唔多唔少係香港呢個社會做成。特別係香港人，成日都好陶醉喺正宗嘅英國口音，一聽到好好聽嘅英國口音就好hyped up成件事😅 搞到好多人對自己嘅英文好冇信心。近近地睇下新加坡同馬來西亞，佢地冇口音咩？一樣有口音仲好重，仲會有 la 嘅尾音添，但佢地都好proud of 自己呢種口音，去到新加坡啲人都照咁樣講嘢，其實真係唔洗驚言語係一種好多變化好多元嘅嘢，最重要嘅係好少外國人會笑你嘅英文口音，你敢講佢都反而欣賞你啦。其實笑人口音最多嘅都係自己香港人：）

我觉得老师和家长的想法都可以理解。老师是为了加强学生的适应能力，能尽可能听得懂不同地区的口音接收得了来自不同地区的输入，而家长是为了让学生的英文尽量标准，以尽可能使得不同地区的人都听得懂他们的输出。

睇個人際遇啦，有啲西人都好衰㗎，有次在library, 朋友問librarian 借鎖匙，回答曰「It's at the door」，朋友可能一時意會唔到條鎖匙掛在廁所門外，再問多次 , 然後先明白。個librarian 轉背後，撻咗句" Can someone learn some English". 我站幾呎外，睇得好清楚。 (朋友在香港教書，英基）

本地香港人最正嘅一樣嘢，就係教啲台灣人，嚟到香港如果問路有人對你態度差，記得要先介紹自己係台灣人，咁人地就會對你態度好，佢地教台灣人呢樣嘢嘅時候仲要用好貼心嘅態度，完全冇覺得羞恥。

I studied in the UK few decades ago. British do not mind your accent in general, they respect different accents from different people. In the UK, there are many accents such as from Birmingham, Liverpool, Scotland, etc. As long as people can communicate with proper English, they think it is no big deal.

其實最大問題唔係有無口音，係有禮貌有自信咁講，互相尊重。同埋最好啱grammar同用字。 For instance, knowing the difference between a blanket and a carpet.

咬字清晰，詞彙，coherence，重要過口音。聽過有個蘇格蘭人，無論幾努力稀釋佢嘅蘇格蘭口音係倫敦，都總會無意中少少暴露出來，就算係英文母語者，都好難模仿其他英文口音，住喺倫敦嘅人總會聽得出佢係蘇格蘭人。就算一個英國人喺美國點樣講美式口音都好，都係會分辨到出嚟。所以唔使介意如果身邊有母語者糾正你嘅發音就會逐漸改善口音，有時發音啱intonation錯左，有時都未必聽得明

I rarely give thumbs down on any YT videos, but this is one of the very few. This video is obnoxious and disgusting. 我喺加拿大35年，只有香港人會笑人有口音，用口音去斷定嗰個人英文好唔好。喺香港人眼中所謂嘅American or British or Australian accent 就巴閉啲，但其實每個國家唔同省份州份都有自己嘅accent. Language 係用來溝通，咩accent 唔重要。Fluency 同accent 係兩回事。開頭幾個西人聽到條問題都唔想答，但主持仲唔醒目繼續問。喺外國咁樣可以構成歧視。呢條片影衰我哋香港人 👎👎👎

有口音唔係咩問題，全世界嘅人都有唔同嘅口音。反而英國人最care係你同人講嘢嗰陣有冇禮貌，yes永遠跟please，no後面加返個thanks/cheers係好基本，喺英國見好多香港人只會單字「yes/no」就完，我知佢哋唔係想無禮貌，佢哋係好溫柔微笑住咁講依個字，只係唔習慣後面要加埋依啲字去講會令英國人聽得舒服啲。唔好怕同外國人講英文，講得多練習得多自然會流利，大家加油。

我認識的外國人（來自英、美、加）全都不介意不同國家的口音，似乎只有少數亞洲人（香港人？）介意自己的英文口音。其實對其他母語是非英語的人來說，有其他與口音係好正常。我認識的那些竹笙仔竹笙女都幾乎係英文為母語，有少數仲可以講流利廣東話，不過口音跟我哋香港粵語好唔同！

Does anyone remember the new word “Hongkongese” in oxford dictionary? Time to use “hongkongese” instead of “Cantonese”, because of the Hong Kong Cantonese or hongkongese is a lot different than the traditional Cantonese since long time ago. We better say it’s Hong Kong- Cantonese or hongkongese. I’m hongkongese/ Hongkonger and I speak hongkongese.

@@Huifen9990 Yes. It’s hongkongese that originally from Cantonese. We all know the original Cantonese in Guangdong is a lot different than the Hong Kong-Cantonese, why can’t we accept the truth? Accent, tones, sound length, words, some of grammars, Jyutping input method, etc. And the Hongkongers keep creating lots of trendy words(潮語）every year. Don’t tell me the Chinese people in Guangdong know those of trendy words. As I said, we all know the differences. How about Spanish and Portuguese, or Russian and Ukrainian? There are so many languages are branching out from the original one. No one face this truth, no one dare to remind of Hongkongese（香港語）, it’s just because of Hong Kong is in controlled by China army. The winner wrote the history what he wants, no one care about anything about losers. I’m not explaining how special is Hong Kong. I’m just treasure and respect my hometown and my people. She’s a little place with weak cultural exports and soft power, so we have responsibilities to tell people what’s Hong Kong. The Hongkongers are original from the coastal areas of classic southern Qing Empire, over than 80% of their ancestors included the new immigrants from Canton are fisherman like Tanka, Fuklou and Hakka. Their ancestors lived on the ocean for many years and moved to the land since Qing Empire. That’s why now we can still find so many fishing cultures in the villages of HK. They speak different dialects, but since Qing Empire to 1850s, they learned Cantonese step by step for communication and finally developed the Hong Kong-Cantonese, (Hongkongese). And some of them are mixed with Southeast Asian blood. It’s absolutely different than the northern china and mandarin culture. Nowadays the southern china included the coastal areas are already covered and controlled by mandarin culture over than 200 years. That’s why the Hongkongers can not fit in the New China. The Hongkongers are absolutely different group of people with the New China. They are a new ethnic group, but they don’t have any choices for their ethnic group. What’s Chinese? What’s China? For example,The Indian, Pakistan and Bangladesh at the same time that they are the same people, before they are all Indians. Why no one call them Pakistan Indians, Bangladesh Indians? Who wrote this history? Who changed their blood? Winner explained, wrote and edited the history.

The Brits could often tell one's social economic status by one's accent. It's much harder in the States.

You can immediately tell who studied in top universities especially if they are scottish or from an area with other weird accents.

佢地係唔太介意你既口音, 尤其英國咁多外來人口, 就算佢地本地都口音都好大差異

其實我覺得有心扮鬼既人唔想認自己係local Chinese 特別係有d港女先會咁介意口音呢樣野就算英國本身都有好多accents 唔係native speaker 基本上好多都聽唔明仲有好多歐州白人國家攞荷蘭例子佢地英文數一數二幾流利都有少少口音所以覺得基本會笑人既多數係d本身無咩野叻又想搵野黎講先會笑人有口音其實鬼佬眼中亞洲人就係亞洲人唔會因為講得好少少會對你有優待相反我覺得保留些少accent 先表示你對自己identity 係認識所以班偽abc 唔洗日日用英文黎打J😂
