I collect old 16mm films from the 30s and 40s. In my collection I have an old 35mm feature of Stormy Trails that looks in stunning condition. I have never seen it because it's a nitrate film (highly flammible) and it's 35mm. Glad to finally see it on this site.

Thanks. Do you ever think you will get your 35mm copy transferred?

It's expensive. If it were a lost film then absolutely. I dont know how available this title is as far as quality dvds or blurays are.

Love this Rex Bell 'indie' western. Unfortunately the leading lady, the fetching Lois Wilde had short lived career. Earle Dwire never disappoints, this time as Rex's lawyer.

The bad guys carry rifles--the preferred weapon in a firefight--and the good guys don't. Even a single-shot Remington or Sharps would be preferable to no rifle--and it would have greater range than a pistol or pistol-caliber Wnchester.. Buffalo hunters at Adobe Walls--who included Bat Masterson--were able to stand off a superior force of Comanches with accurate fire from their Sharps rifles. The Comanches weren't able to get close enough to use their weapons.

Just when I think I’m finally getting to see Earl Dwyer in a good guy role for a change it turns out he’s a lawyer. Go figure.

The women in these movies always look like clean-cut girl next door types.
