Back To The Basics (Pond Fishing)

Today we take out 1 rod with a Jig and go bass fishing at a pond. Temperatures have cooled down and we are working the baits a bit slower so I included everything from cast to catch without cuts so you can see how we work the baits.

I fish a pond with the a lot of grass and I’ll pitch a jig into the openings

@@lure_launcher5032 the water is only 3 ft at most then a large grass flat ~ 2 ft. Even a swim jig gives me issues

I like ultralight finesse jigs in those scenarios. Like the Bitsy Bug Mini in 1/8 or 3/16oz range. I typically throw a zoom grub on it as a trailer. You’ll find that if the grass is matted enough, you can work it on top of the grass and it won’t punch through and drag up grass. I also like a dropshot in these environments. Again I won’t go above 1/8 in weight and will keep it above the grass.
