Awesome, great vid. It's fun to get out there and kayak fish. Probably the biggest growing area in bass fishing with the price of boats, gear, and gas. Heres a few tips I would give you....though everyone does things differently and sometimes you just gotta make mistakes and learn from them. I typically dont ever look at the scoreboard until I get a limit....that's my rule. Also, you can't ever really tell anything by the app who is leading, or who is even doing well....theres always going to be sandbaggers who dont submit their fish until the very very end of the day......they just take the pics, release, then don't submit to the scoreboard. but I get it, it's exciting when you first start doing these kayak tourneys. I just found out after a few tourneys I was putting way too much time and effort into the scoreboard. As soon as I stopped wasting my time with it, my results got better. I was also spending far too much time re-rigging rods, on my phone, and cruising around, all which was time I didn't have a line in the water. it's all about effeciency and choice of area. Get you a net, also always wet the board and angle the board when you take pics. When you put the fish on a hot board, it will jump everytime....the first time you have a 21 incher flip off the board in the water, it's heartbreaking. wet it first. then when taking a pic, angle the board where the fish's head is down and his tail is up, and put a net on the head end. when it's angled like that, the fish can only jump one way-----into the net. also u can use the net to keep it in water while you getting your stuff ready, or get a hawg leash, so you can put the fish in the water while you getting board out and pulling app up. These are all mistakes I learned the hard way. But no matter what anyone says, a 6th place finish in maybe your 3rd kayak event ever is just insane. I think it took me 6 tourneys to get a limit.....then soon after I top 10'd a couple local trail events. then this year I finally top 10'd a big 200 person national event on TN river, made another ignorant mistake that I didn't even notice til after the fact looking at vids and I got dq'd 2 days later and lost out on $1250. Always wear your pfd!!! LOL, that was my big mistake on the big tourney.
