I agree such a good strong box ive got the mk3 and its brilliant its solid and for the price of £250 its out standing with the accessories you get with it

Great review mate . I've got the same seatbox and I love it, For what you gets it's well worth the money. My only problem is when I got mine from go outdoors I got it without the footplate because the one with the footplate included was out of stock. My thinking was I could just buy the footplate another time. But been looking for a westlake footplate for months and can't seem to find one anywhere, I've thought maybe a maver, matrix or preston footplate would fit but after readying the measurements for them online they don't seem to match. I was just wondering if you knew where I could get a westlake or possibly know if any other make would fit. Thanks for any feed back 👍.

It would be good if you levelled it properly for the video so it doesn't wobble when you get off claiming it's sturdy! Really - No strap? I can see this box on a few sites (millets, blacks, gooutdoors etc), and they all have a strap in the picture & details - take a look. However, I can't see it anyone still selling it with the footplate package - can you? Are you really saying that when they add the footplate, they delete the strap??? I do think it's good value for money. My mates got the one but there's many annoying things that you have not mentioned. (1) the sliding tray grip gets in the way of using the strap guide, (2) ​the footplate back/forth guides are notchy, stiff, horrible to use, (3) the footplate does not slide away under the box, (4) although the footplate folds up and out the way, there's nothing to hold it in place and it falls straight back down, (5) the side opening tray can't be used with bait tray attachments on on the right. It would have been better with 2 half front trays under the knees that are useable, (6) when you move your weight around - just casting etc, the trays jiggle / clank around on the loose hinges, (7) no seals between trays, so water runs in when raining, (8) the lowest you can set the footplate is 6" off the ground, but you have then set your seat far too low for most people with crunched up knees. Please re-set the seat high enough to have correct posture and let me know if the pole bar is then high enough to stop the tip of a 16m fishing pole hitting the water when held in the pole holder of the seat, (8) once the seat is high enough for good posture, the legs are too short for the highest you can set the side tray position (you have to reach down as well as to the side), (9) spirit levels don't work - let me explain... there is 'play' in the leg clamps, so moving the frame up/down the leg to level it doesn't really change that the leg is still vertical. The bubble needs to be on the frame. It's as if it's a 30 an old prototype and 30 years of learning has been forgotten. All the above is obvious without even using it. Do you know any other issues with the seatbox? The link you sent shows no straps in stock. I wouldn't use a laptop one to carry 30kg with a strap designed for 2kg without enough clips! No it wasn't me in gooutdoors - never been to the shop but may do soon. Keep up the good work!

@@Adam-hr7vs ohhh that's a few good pointers there a few I have found a way round. will have to do a video on it after a few weeks. the mk2 version seems to have sorted the issues out by a re-design.

Does come with a strap mine, did its good quality thick, padded strap & box has fixing points for strap.
