Thank you for an honest review I have a 28' Dutchman Sport it came with Westlake tires and I have never had any issues so I will replace them with Westlakes. We do not take long trips like you we live near the NJ Shore and pretty much stay in the North East. BTW what brand are the TPMS you use as I have seen many different ones. Again thanks for your honesty.

Glad it was able to help. As long as you are within your comfort zone, thats what matters most. No one knows how you will camp better than you 🙂. I my tpms monitor is made by lippert. Tire Linc i believe is what it is called. Safe travels and happy camping!

We have a 2021 Grand Design Imagine 2970RL and it came with the WestLakes. The TT just did not seem planted and it had sway and it was coming from the tires as we figured out later. We changed out our Blue Ox WDH to the Equalizer 4pt WDH and we changed out the WestLakes to the GY Endurance tires. Let me back up. After changing out the WDH, we still had that little sway coming from the TT. After we changed out the tires, that sway went completely away. We compared the tire build to each other when they were being changed out at the tire store. WOW, what a difference. They were 180 from each other. The sidewalls on the WestLakes was basically nothing. The GY Endurance sidewalls are a solid build. Both tires are rated for 80 psi. We monitored the psi constantly because we also heard of the rep of the WestLakes. Thats just my imput with the tires and as always, Watching here in Michigan. Safe travels...Go Blue!!!!!

This is good wisdom. I have not used the GY Endurance tires yet but plan to put those on when I switch out. Thank you for sharing!

There are bulges on your side wall - I have the same tires as you on my 28' ATC toy hauler - there is only 2 steel belts on these tires - along with some nylon - I would rather have some commercial tires like the Continental HTL2's - since I pull allot of weight - they're not cheap but you never have to worry

I agree. I ended up changing them out in Dallas during a summer trip. They took me over 15k miles so I can't complain but had to change a tire between San Antonio and Dallas. No blow out thank God but it was on its way. I moved to Goodyear Endurance tires. I'm satisfied

Well said. We had ours for just over 3,000 miles before selling. I was a bit nervous for our longer trip, sold the set of 4 for a few hundred bucks. We replaced with the Goodyear endurance prior to our longer trip. Since replacing, there is a bit of a feel difference when traveling. Our 2800bh (picked up in late March 2021) feels a bit more planted, especially over those slight bumps on the freeway. We love our just over 3000 miles on them so far. The key is most definitely checking and keeping an eye on your tires. Speed and load are two things I think have played a major role in the rep of tires in general. People buy tires and expect more than they are capable of. Thanks for the video! I need to get back to uploading content.

Had one blow out on my 2020 Transcend XPLOR 265BH yesterday. (7/17/2022) TPS system gave no warning. Went from fine to catastrophic blow out.
@RVCavalry2 жыл бұрын
Yep we have had many over the years trailers, and we know the drill and take special care of our tires. It does not matter what you do Westlake's will blow without warning and cause a lot of damage to your rig. We have had it happen. I do know people that have not had any problems and got a lot of miles on them, however we have had a few blow outs all of which were all Westlake's tires. Westlake's do blow more than any other tire on the market and that is per our insurance company and our dealership. You can also check with just about any Road Ranger they all seem to know Westlake's by name lol. We also have two very close friends of ours that are RV techs at Lazy Days which is the largest RV dealership in the nation and they agree. We have not had any blowouts in 30 plus years of RV'ing with any tire but the Westlake's. Whats interesting though is the insurance companies are seeing a massive reduction in RV tire blowout claims (percentage wise because of the amount of Westlakes on the road) with the other tires, now that many RV manufacturers have switched from Westlake tires. Westlake produce's a lot of defective tires and have a poor quality control system hence why they are cheaper. A defective tire was the case with everyone of our Westlake tire blowouts (always keep your tire for your insurance company to examine if you do have a blowout). Unfortunately it just depends on whether you get a bad tire or not. It can happen with any tire brand but statically Westlakes have more issues than any other brand.

@@RVCavalry Luckily I was only going about 10 MPH when it happened. But it still ripped the plastic wheel well trim off and tore out some insulation under the trailer.

I have the Goodyear Endurance. In our second season of use and they have been fantastic. They are rated for up to 87mph. However I don't tow faster than 70mph. But its good to know they have the capability.
@liveyourfree3 жыл бұрын
Wow 87mph? I would never see that speed while towing either but that is pretty impressive. Thank you for sharing that. That's really helpful to know.
@gardnetbush97682 жыл бұрын
Right I have the good year also and yes I won't drive as fast as 87 but I love it cause if I have to pass some one I'm not nervous when I see my gage get up to about 80 but that's only when I'm passing then I go back to 68-70 mph

As many people have had blows there’s no way they were all doing something wrong that caused them to blow. I have a Vanleigh and the westlakes came on it, why? They’re are cheap I’m swapping them out just don’t know with what it.

Go for what you are comfortable with my friend. I'm on over 15k miles with the Westlake tires and no problems. As long as everyone is safe and comfortable I say go with the setup you like
