Yup. They needed to take a break from one another so that they could pursue individual interests. Additionally, their popularity had been plummeting over the years, and they were getting sick of not getting enough creative control, as well as being marketed as ballad singers. Thirdly, they were arguing and fighting with one another more and more often in their later years and the relationship between them was on the verge of becoming toxic. Had they not broken up, they would’ve ended up landing each other in hospital, or at least one of them would’ve ended up in rehab or something.

kabayan Brian was never told about the reunion, there was a deal on the table for a five man reunion but Louie Welsh said "no", what people don't understand is how Brian contributed to the band, he was the only one at the time with a young family at home, his two daughters were only babies and his marriage was on the rocks.

I never saw westlife perform when Brian was in it...but as he is/was doing boyzlife i got to see him as i always wanted to see him at least once, sing, a westlife song. It was like i finally saw the full westlife band sing and it was good to hear his voice live! (Keith isnt so good though) But now i feel that Westlife is Westlife without Brian, and as Nicky said, it would be weird with Brian back in it. But if he ever did go back, it would be good to see the full set again, even though i and many fans would have to get used to a 5 piece again. But yea westlife is a 4 piece now.
