Westport Marina Crabbing

This video guide shows you how, and where to catch Crab on the docks at Westport Marina, on the Washington Coast. Westport Marina is considered one of the best places to learn how to crab from a dock. The docks and piers are open to, and free of charge to the public. Near the entrance to Pier or Float #20, is the Jetty Fishing Tackle Store. There you can buy a one day, or three day or longer crabbing, or fishing license. They also stock just about everything else you might need to go crabbing or fishing, from the docks or jetties.

I fished off those piers back in 1982. All we caught were undersize back then too.

Crabbing from any pier is not as successful as crabing from a boat. However, kids have fun even if they catch throwbacks, and a couple legal sized. You can also fish at the same time crab pot’s are soaking.

That Harbor Resort burn down to the ground a couple of months ago. It was the perfect location for bait.

Westport Marina Cottages is where we always stay. Crabbing is right outside at Westport Marina. It cost more to stay there this time of year. However, they have full refridgerator, microwave, stove, and all cooking utensils. You can save a lot of money cooking your own food. Find out when high tide is, your best luck crabbing will be two hours before and two hours after. That gives you a 4hr window to crab. Wish you the best!
