Great pics of Westport Quay line & station. Also Mainline Station + surviving Achill spur. I always note the old Castlebar road bridge over the: filled in cutting of the track bed. This is to the left of the present road from Castlebar as you're heading for Westport.

Yes they filled in the bridge when the built the new road. I think the bridge is open again as part of the greenway Gerry

Great video brings back many memories! Pollexfens store was regularly rail served until 1976. Used to go down there to watch them shunt the 20 foot orange containers and get a lift in the A class locomotive! Also helped them in the store and I was only a kid lol happy days!

@@paulhopkins4129 Glad you enjoyed the photos. I walked it many times on holidays. I remember Paddy Gorman was the foreman at the Station and sometimes get a cab run on the A Class. Gerry
