I had to understand that first hand when I went to job corps 1998 in Albany, NY...that's when I fully understood that NY wasn't just the 5 Boroughs and Long Island alone. I meet some very chill people from Albany, Troy, Peekskill, Syracuse, Buffalo, Poughkeepsie, Newburgh, Schenectady, Utica and Binghamton. They reminded me of people I knew from the boroughs but had their own personalities and they had that don't fuck with me attitude which I can relate too. Im not even mad at what westside Gunn was saying. He also need to understand back then when people in nyc started listening to south side music the radio pushed it. It was hard for people from nyc to blow because the music was changed and record execs told them to sound like south. Then it was over from there with the sound of nyc hip hop.
