Gudgeon on the keel or stem. Why do Americans get the terminolodgy so wrong. Gudgeons comprise the hinging mechanism on outboard-mounted Rudders. Gudgeons always have a hole for a Pin, either may be attached to the rudder or to the Transom. Gudgeons are attached to the Transom.
