Great work John, thanks for sharing. I agree you went up at least 1 full point in the process. Boy if nothing else it really made the cover shine bright. And so wholesome you offering to help cut some lattice work for folks making their own hydration stations!

Hopefully you'll feel the pain of my comments today.. lol. Constructive criticism from my own experience; Microfiber isn't as good as a "bar cloth" (old-school cloth diaper), I even found it works better than using cotton balls or cotton rounds which seem to get hung up on surface imperfections. For the peroxide and water treatment use a Qtip and roll it over At the beginning of the cleaning try putting a modern comic board in the center of the book. If you're cleaning the cover put a silver or modern board glossy side towards the pages under the cover before doing the dab. This will help keep the cover and pages less wavy and get rid of any soak through, bleed through, and ghost artifacts. Before all the wet cleaning, try cleaning the cover with an Absorene dirt eraser and a "secret weapon". The secret weapon I'm talking about is a Fragrance and chemical free dryer sheet. you did a really nice job on the press. Maybe i can make a video with my secret tips, i think they would bring your game up even though it looks like you're an artisan presser.

Thanks brother, I’ll definitely give your feedback a try. I do use the absorene eraser a lot as well. I use my judgement on when to use a particular item and when not to. I’ll also try the q-tip. I use q-tips to clean my tape deck heads often, so I have them handy. One of the reasons I like using a paper towel between the cover and first page, while liberally dabbing with water and hydrogen peroxide, is I encourage the moisture bleed through in hopes of additional dirt transfer onto the paper towel. While it wasn’t relevant for this demonstration, there have been times the paper towel soaks up a lot of transferred dirt from that I wonder if a backer board would allow any soakage, and because of the press, I don’t mind the waviness. Anyway, thanks so much for your feedback man, I’m going to give your suggestions a try! Very much appreciated!

10:42 don’t do your videos like this. You should keep them all landscape mode so it fills the screen.
