I love how they have the right attitude and talent. They get it that not many bands make it to this point and to have fun as long as they can!

Wet Leg may usually be considered Rhian and Hester's band - but Ellis and Henry are the motor that make them a great live act, and Joshua adds the special sauce and fills in the cracks.

Nah the girls are the band❤️❤️❤️❤️ The 3 ugly guys are 🤮
@Baribrotzer

@@Andy437 Yes, Rhian and Hester are the songwriters, the singers, and the faces. But Henry (session drummer), Joshua (Hester's boyfriend), and Ellis (the best guitarist they knew) are the engine room, and every good band needs a good engine room. And they're all friends, all five of them. That counts.

"usually considered"... They consider that as well. I totally agree that they all work wonderfully together, but they present the band as Rhian and Hester's band
@Baribrotzer
@Baribrotzer Жыл бұрын
@@dl.puncea ".....they present the band as Rhian and Hester's band....." It is. But the three guys are not anonymous sidemen - they're part of the band. Lots of bands are like that: There'll be one or two main songwriters/vocalists/frontpeople, but all four-or-five are considered band members. Indeed, I'd argue that without Ellis and Henry's energy level and good-natured presence, and without them projecting the clear warmth and friendship among all five, they might not have gotten that far. Part of the point of Wet Leg is that they're likable, down-to-earth, girls/guys-next-door types. You could imagine them as your friends.

I totally agree - that pumping backing is what drives the track. Much as I would LOVE to see them in action, I am too old to pay to see a band play only to discover it's the audience I am actually paying to listen to!

Clever. They've taken a joke and made it into a world-wide hit. She's used her money to work on her appearance (weight, haircut, makeup) and has become a blooming flower. If they can continue down this exact same road, they have a chance at playing 20k-25k arenas in the USA in 2024. Tough to follow up on such a great album. But, honestly, I think they CAN!

This band is a great example of fabricated fame for the sake of a record labels profits. What I mean by that, is that they have very little catalogue and usually rotate the same few handfuls of songs. It's very generic music and they have fairly basic musical talent. There is no improvisation anywhere to be seen in their sets. It's black and white and really boring. It's fortunate they have their looks to sell, because it's not their songs people are buying.

I like their songs and it took me a few months of listinig before I looked up anything else about them. I find the songs simple but catchy and funny and they play tight live. It might not be for you but your cynical view of the band is wrong. I've even heard the singer do opera.
