It has been a long time since an indie rock song created so much buzz as Wet Leg’s ‘Chaise Longue’. Out of nowhere the Isle of Wight band is catapulted into being the ‘coolest band of the moment’. It takes them on worldwide tours and television-shows where founders Hester and Rhian never dared to dream of in their earlier musical careers. And that before their debut album. How they deal with this massive explosion? By living by the words they said to each other when founding Wet Leg. Always have fun and never take yourselves or the band too seriously. It is exactly that what is making Wet Leg so irresistible.

Not many bands have done out this century and grabbed my attention, I think when I first heard the Arctic monkeys was the last time, I was like, wow this is immense, different, quirky, intelligent, it's got everything. Buying a first CD in ions, it's on pre order.

Your music seems to cross generations as in my case being 60 and im so excited by your music . For me i hear the bands of long ago like the Beatles , The Monkees , Blonde . I dont know how or what you have hit on in this music but it picks up a lot of other bands and then makes it your own . UR Mum just came out and its another great song . Cant wait for the album to drop

The perfect band. Like hearing Roxy, Talking heads, The Pistols for the first time. Have listened to them every day for the last 18 months and don't see that changing any time soon. Just sublime. Roll on The Forum.

Some of us lived a dead end job. Looking back, that was the job security- nobody wanted it or kept at it. A creative flash in the pan is nice (wet leg is wondrous) but 'disenchant' gets old. Will an additional CD have the same magic? oooh I hope so

"Of a generation of people that were told they could do anything..." I would articulate that a little differently. We're the generation that were told go to college, get a good job. Then we all graduated to the War on Terror, Great Recession, Donald Trump, a global COVID pandemic, and 6 figures of student loan debt where most of the jobs available don't even pay a living wage and housing costs at least 60% of your paycheck. All this and we're constantly told by our boomer elders that "You are the most spoiled and entitled generation, you can't afford a house because you eat Avocado Toast." Even though boomers grew up with state subsidized housing, education, and health care, as well as enjoyed union labor protections and constantly rising wages, in a comparatively booming economy where they bought their first house at the age of 25 out of pocket and could support a family of 4 on a single income. Spoiled. Entitled. Pfft. Whose spoiled and entitled? Boomers were the most privileged brats in all of human history. Now they get to retire to Medicare and Social Security benefits paid for by the hard work of millennials and zoomers (by the numbers we work longer hours than boomers did) they look down upon as lazy. What do we have to look forward to? Global climate apocalypse and world war 3. Thanks, boomers. Anyway, Wet Leg is awesome. At least we have that ;) One thing's for sure, they're way better than that trash pop they call The Beatles :P :P :P

Ho,ho 🤣 nice moan! What's a boomer! Isn't it someone born after war! I.e. baby boomers,i.e. 1940s50s, that makes them 70s,80 y olds! amongst the hardest working, hard life,no university generation. I think you're modern troubles are aimed at Gen X! don't hear much about them these days 🙂

I never thought of them as 'gorgeous' but I think they do have charisma. I don't think bands like to be overhyped - it just sets up massive expectations that can be stressful and scary.
