Some great shots as always. Gotta love the light reflections and dynamics the rain and wet pavement bring to a shoot! My preference/suggestion (especially with a constant light) is to let the model flow pose more. Every shot doesn't need to be a timed pose. It lends to more candid, less posey vibes, and for me poses that I dont see coming and can build off of, creating more of a collaborative vibe.

Awesome as always...i have 2 rotolight Aoes and they work awesome in low light and indoors..curious on what white balance did you shoot this session with on the Aoes

I believe the AEOS was near 6k. I shoot raw on the camera and adjust the WB in post.

hello Mr Allen i am puzzled about the shutter speed i noticed on your photo on a sunny day bright day you set your shutter 1250s and the back ground still is over expose with 1250 s speed !!!!!!
@RaulRodriguez-fj4mo8 ай бұрын
i am sorry what i meant the background i meant the sky
@J.Allen_Photography8 ай бұрын
@@RaulRodriguez-fj4mo not really sure what you’re talking about. I do know this day was overcast. So the sky was grey and white no matter what I did.
@J.Allen_Photography8 ай бұрын
@@RaulRodriguez-fj4mo you have to remember also, just because my shutter is at 1/1250, doesn’t mean that the background will be dark. Depending on how much light is already in the scene. Plus, my aperture is typically wide open which allows a ton of light in.

Fantastic content as always Jason. I have both the Rotolight Aeos 1 and the Neo 3 and those lights can allow you to create some magic shots. Get the Elinchrom EL-Skyport Transmitter Pro and shoot with flash also. Keep up the good work.
@J.Allen_Photography11 ай бұрын
Thanks! I have the NEO2 and the Elinchrom transmitter. I just don’t feel the need for the flash power, but I should give it a more thorough effort.
@DavidRodriguezMusic11 ай бұрын
Great content! Wondering if your shooting at 250 ss on purpose to freeze action or just had it on manual and left it there? wondering if you could have shot maybe at 125 or so and brought down your iso? Always good to see a San Antonio photog - hope to meet you down the line.
@J.Allen_Photography11 ай бұрын
Great question! At low light, I’m even more nervous about motion and blur in my photos. So I really try not to go below 250ss if possible. Having a 1.2 lens really gives me some freedom to do that.

Hi Jayson, I m not professional photographer, but love photography😅, Which lens would you recommend 50mm 1:2 or 85mm 1:4?
@J.Allen_Photography11 ай бұрын
Both! lol. They are both great options but both offer different looks. It also depends on other factors. Like what kind of camper you have, what will you be photographing with either lens….

Hi! I use Rotolight Aeos 2’s for my night portraits. Do you mind sharing what your light power is when doing these?

I honestly don’t remember but it’s up pretty high. The AEOS 2 should be plenty powerful as I’m using the first version

How do you like the constant light versus a strobe?
@J.Allen_Photography10 ай бұрын
For low light portraits, I prefer the LED. However it can provide the light needed for daytime the way a strobe can. So different tools for different uses.

What battery do you have,how long did it last you and on what power setting?
@J.Allen_Photography11 ай бұрын
It’s a vmount battery that came with the light. It lasts quite a while. I’ve not ever timed it, but it can do two hour long sessions for me. Maybe more!

Great Video! always shooting bangers!. Would you still recommend the AD600? or does roto live up to the hype? 😀
@Lucy-dk5cz11 ай бұрын
Different tool different job. For low light stuff where you are exposing for ambient rotolight will win. Want to shoot in day time with dancers, go the AD600
@J.Allen_Photography11 ай бұрын
Exactly what Lucy said! Different tool for different job. I love shooting with my AD600! You can’t really shoot with this AEOS during bright times of the day. It’s just not bright enough. But in low light, this to me is better than working with a strobe. Plus I’m shooting mirrorless and with the AEOS I can see in real time the exposure of the light.

I really like how you pose your models! QQ: I have a Rebel T7 that only goes to 600 ISO and makes my lowlight pics have noise texture..how do I fix that? (Besides upgrade which I will be doing soon)
@J.Allen_Photography11 ай бұрын
The T7 is an older body. What kind of lenses do you have. Faster lenses will allow you to bring in more light. So that helps.

18-55mm and 70-300mm. Thanks for responding!
@J.Allen_Photography11 ай бұрын
So yeah. Those are kit lenses and they aren’t really the best for lower light. You’ll need to purchase better lenses before you can really notice better low light images. Buy lenses that are quality. They are expensive but they last in the long run. Stay away from EF-s lenses though.
