ive never seen utena but the use of water imagery in this amv is so clever. utena looks so intriguing, im thinking i should watch it now.. it looks way darker than i thought based on the art style. btw i LOVE the part at 1:38

Main reason I made the amv cause I realised there was a lot of water imagery surrounding the character and knew it was perfect for this song lol Also yeeeeessss I highly recommend Utena! It’s definitely way darker than it first appears and honestly one of the most impactful pieces of fiction I’ve come across

Omg this feels like this is connecting like 2 phases of my life, like a couple years ago I used to be rlly into Dazey and Scouts (well not them specifically but that genre yk), and now I just started watching Utena, and I’m becoming friends with the same people I was friends with earlier, but took a gap the past year or so (Like a Star Wars V or Mr Robot s2, separated from everyone by a series of unfortunate events)! Also this is just made rlly good!, the timing on everything is so good, the intro i feel like rlly matches that sound of the “ticking”, and the water motif throughout it all to go with the song (and is that a thing I should look out for in the show? Bc I’ve noticed there’s a lot of her showering, the rain in that duel scene, the water in the locket, etc, and if so I wonder how that relates to the general use of water, like in the entrance scenes to the duels?). The ending is also great w that abrupt finish and the crying, omg the whole thing feels like a trailer for the show! ❤❤

Yeah while watching the show I realised how Juri is around water a lot, I don’t have an interpretation that I’m fully happy with yet so I can’t really answer those questions, tho from what I remember the only person to get a similar shower scene to Juri’s was in episode 37 (I went on a bit of a tangent here, but from your wording I’m not sure if you’ve finished the show so I removed it for spoiler reasons, to summarise I think Juri/Shiori and Utena/Anthy parallel each other in an interesting way and the way water is used for both of those relationships drives me a bit insane)
