Never enough. I love new soaps and especially labels. Artisans with attractive labels will always be on top.

Any of the 3 British T's or any Proraso product will give you exactly what you need. A good brush, a bowl, and a little experience will make miracles a daily event.

3 T creams? Sure. 3 T soaps? They suck 😊

I think razor makers will have a far harder time than soap/cream makers. Razors are usually a one time purchase. Unless you're someone like Timeless or Henson that are full blown machine shop operations that have other types of manufacturing at the core of their business, they are eventually going to struggle. Exceptions might be someone like Merkur that's been around forever or Rex/Razor Emporium who also sell shave supplies and accessories and are an artisan soap maker themselves.

Once I locked on to Proraso, an Edwin Jagger brush, and a decent razor, I was done. I use shark oil/squalene for aftershave and it works well for me. No bumps or scrapes or cuts. No powerful smells, no ingrown hairs. I used to like different soaps and lotions and so on, but a lot of products just don't work well for my skin. I recently tried a Henson Shaving razor and it sliced my face up pretty badly. I just don't want to try new things these days. Once you get what works for you, you're good to go.

What razor did you settle on?

@@rolandomontenegro4130 I know it's anathema to the wet shaving community but a Gillette 5 blade. I clean the blade after every shave and only shave every 2 or 3 days so the razor is good for about 3-4 weeks..I only go through about 12 blades a year. That's one 13-pack special from Costco every year and I am all set. It works out to about 270 yen per blade ($1.79 USD) for a month. The Proraso tube lasts for about 12-14 months and then the shark oil is ultra-high grade cosmetic and comes in a giant 700ml pump bottle. That lasts at least 18-24 months. I think shaving costs me about $5 USD a month or less in total. I tried about 9 to 10 different super mega ultra razors and all of them left bumps or tore my skin up. The Gillette works so I stick with it.

For your shaving goals for new artisans let me suggest moon soaps, the Cajun blade, and wet the face. All excellent for de and straight razor shaving.

In these Inflationary Times. HERE IS AN EASY WAY TO DO IT MY FRIENDs Use any hard Bar Soap, Tallow or Glycerin based Soaps out there? To fit in any Mugs or Cups? Like" (Mitchells' Wool Fat or Arko Sticks. Just to name a few of them?) You can mix and match your old Soaps? Cut up the soap on a paper plate, pour your soap chunks with the shavings from the Paper Plate into a Mug, cover the soap with a small amount of water, and microwave your soap. For about a minute or so? Place a paper plate under your mug in case it bubbles out of your cup? If it foams up, STOP. The water keeps it from burning itself up. (DON'T OVER WATER YOUR SOAP??) Easy, does it? Let cool don't want to Crack the Mugs or Cups you're using? (You just want it to Congeal in your Mug or Cup') it is very hot and watery'''''. let it cool in PLACE'. after it cools, put it in a Sunny Window, until the Soap hardens? When using your soaps, use Dry Brush Less Water. It thickens the soap, making it easier to use on your face. Save your Money, spend it on your wife, don't listen to the shave Mafia. It saves me time and Money. Wheelchair Larry Happy New Year. Your Mileage may vary?
