I'm American, and It kills me that nobody in the US (aside from those of us who lived in Scotland in those days) has ever heard of this song. It's a brilliant piece of pop. I don't understand why it didn't chart in the US, other than maybe poor promotion. Also, Marti Pellow is such an infectiously enthusiastic front man. It amuses me that he placed sixth in a 2003 Glasgow Herald poll for "The Most Scottish Person in the World". :-)

I live in the USA and just "discovered" Marti and WWW less than 3 months ago. All because I watched "Four Weddings and a Funeral" and this time (no pun intended) I watched through the credits and heard that all so famous song "Love is All Around". I was immediately hooked, googled them, and proceeded to buy all their CDs and Marti's solo CDs, and watch every interview, concert, and video possible. The rest, as they say, is history. Shame on the US for not embracing them. I am 35 years late to the party.

Yeah 'take the lyric' or 'check the lyric' is to show they altered it after Van Morrison's lawyers got onto them.
