nice video! so, what do you think about the big gennaker? in the videos, it seemed to go the same angles and speeds as your standard gennaker, if not a bit slower. Supposedly, the blue boat should have been able to sail deeper and have better VMG downwind.

Indeed, he could go deeper. One problem we have here on the lake is the shallow water. Its only 2-3meter in depth and with a bit of wind we get quite some waves. No chance for him in this situation, difficult to fill the sail. I would say the big white is really great in flat water. What we also found, that taking it down on the upwind did not help him to be faster then the boat with the standard gennaker up

See my video "Weta corsica" , I used Gennaker 12,9 m2 in gulf Ajaccio. I think I sail 1 knot or more quicker.

What is the app or equipment you are using to show your speed?

Hi Lou. I am using here an Insta 360 One X camera in a dive case (since the camera isn't waterproof). The speed can be displayed with the insta 360 software. Newer cameras from Insta 360 don't really need a waterproof case anymore.
