Are you going to see the new batman movie

Love the review. Couldn’t agree more. That transparent dome is way too distracting. It’s an amazing detail, I just wish that it was darker. In the original film the transparent head was barely perceptible. Most people who saw the film when it came out had no idea the dome was clear and I feel like Weta went too out of their way to highlight it. The fact that the Xenomorph has a transparent dome in the original movie is one of those bits of trivia now that everyone knows and yet everyone acts like they’re the first person to tell you. It’s like that tidbit about LOTR. I’ve never even seen the LOTR films but I know Aragon accidentally breaks his foot kicking a helmet or something.

I got this one today! It was delivered just a short time ago. I love it and along side Ripley with Jones it makes a nice pair!

Thanks for the review. This figure series is a bit too silly for my taste. Though I rather like Jones the cat's expression on the Ripley statue. For the record, the head colours and the clear dome are in fact correct... For H.R. Giger's very first prototype. But the dome in the final costume was indeed sprayed over, hiding most of the details underneath. It's not just Weta, S.H. MonsterArts and Figma also gave a clear dome to their own versions of Big Chap, for some reason. Maybe they're proud of the underlying sculpt?

The Dome in the film wasnt sprayed over, it fogged up plus with how the film was shot in the darkness. Look at behind the scenes and you can clearly see out the detail under the dome.

@@Youcannotfalter As it turns out, a behind the scenes photo showing a crew member spraying the dome in preparation for a take actually exists. You can find it in J.W. Rinzler’s « The Making of Alien » book, chapter 11. To be perfectly accurate on set photos show the dome wasn’t completely opaque, yet the (real) human skull H.R. Giger used up front was no longer visible

@@darthrizzen9349 I do know not one dome was the same, since they had stunt heads, semi mechanical heads and full mechanical, is it clear what the crew member is spraying? I have seen people spraying water based shine on the dome to make it less man in a suit and more organic. But as I said the dome was always produced clear, loads of images show it clear, but in the movie it is varied.

I don't normally like the cartoonish figures, like this, but they strike me differently, i'm not sure how. I liked them though, so I bought them last month, and they look better in person. Great review!

Glad you like them!

I will add that while I like the color of the Xeno, im' not a huge fan of it on the Xeno. I think it should've been more of a jet black color. I also agree with the helmet being at least brushed with a gray instead of being crystal clear.

Nice but his facehugger, hugged a big foot... out of scale!

The clear dome is based on the original xenomorph design for the Alien movie 👍

actually the original Big Chap didn't have a clear dome, it was slightly frosted :)
