Nice video! How you like the hub so far and how is it holding up? Thank you for your time
@stuartgibson6 жыл бұрын
Good of you to ask! Honestly I only lasted 3 months with the hub for 2 reasons. 1: I think there are not enough points of engagement on the driver so at times I couldn’t use pedal pressure for tricks the way I wanted and 2: the driver-side locknut broke in half twice in 3 months so I didn’t find it reliable enough to travel around with it. Apparently that is a common issue that will be addressed in the future..

Oh bummer! I was thinking about getting it. I have the original supreme hub that I've had for like 10 years and it's still goin. Figured the new one would be a good idea to get and it looked like it was very reliable. Thank you for the info I really appreciate it

@@stuartgibson Ok awesome! I seen some of your comments about the WTP hub, I think they screwed up with the female axle, I only trust that system in the front. Eclat has male though!👌
@stuartgibson5 жыл бұрын
@@ChiTownGuerrilla they addressed the issues I and others had with the hub, it was a first production batch problem. The WTP Supreme hub is actually very popular now! The Eclat driver system just sounds bullet proof and I am also a fan a male axles in the back!

Did you have any problems with the driver clicking while pedaling? Whenever I put pressure on pedals it clicks like something is loose.

kody DeCarlo no sir I did not! But it is common to hear a clicking noise when putting an older chain on a new driver, are you sure it’s not that?

I'm currently thinking about buying the same hub but there's no actual review "after six months of use and abuse" you promised. I'm quite worried about the bushing that sits there instead of a bearing. How did that one held up? Could you please briefly summarize your experience with the hub? Really liked this review, though! :)
@stuartgibson5 жыл бұрын
Hi Anton! I never made a proper review video because I didn't last more then 3 months with the hub. The reason why is due to the driver-side locknut, I broke it in half twice. The problem was aware with Wethepeople and they have since addressed it. Apparently the part was heat-treated too much causing it to become brittle. As I was just about to go on a trip I decided to ride with my spare Profile wheels and I kept those in my bike ever since. I didn't like the amount of slack the driver had compared to my Profiles either, however the driver bushing is something I am enthusiastic about. After a week of riding it felt more or less the same as a driver with bearings. The hub design is great, really solid product, just isn't the right hub for me personally.
@anton_arn5 жыл бұрын
Stuart Gibson Thank you very much for quick response, I really appreciate it! I’m going to take your word for it and try my luck with the hub, because Profiles are quite expensive here and Madera nowhere to be found, hopefully it will last me a few years. :)

hey im curious about the hub because i have one.. i want to know how strong it is.. im using it now like 4 months
@stuartgibson4 жыл бұрын
As far as I know it’s pretty bulletproof now. I went back to riding Profile hubs after 3 months because I didn’t like the amount of engagement points the hub has besides some first series production flaws mine had.
@stuartgibson4 жыл бұрын
Professor Feathers I do! The hub is designed very nicely, however the first batch of hubs had a brittle driver-side conus due to wrong heat treating. We’re years past that point now and they sent out replacement parts to those who needed them is what I heard so it should all be good now! I just personally didn’t like the amount of engagement points ultimately so went back to my profile hubs I had already put back in my bike because I was traveling frequently at the time.
@stuartgibson4 жыл бұрын
Professor Feathers the supreme hub has less points of engagement compared to the minis so you’ll feel a bit more slack. I mostly ride ramps and use pedal pressure a lot for lip tricks so I prefer lots of engagement points!

I just received this hub, and after i tightened the wheel in the frame, i noticed that the drive moves from the inner side to the locknut a little, everything is on its place, it moves a little but that bothers me a little. Is this normal for this supreme hub?, the rim it’s not loose, just the drive moves, please help me with this
@stuartgibson5 жыл бұрын
Christian Rodriguez Flores I’d say that is perfectly fine yes! As the driver doesn’t have bearings but a bushing it can’t be locked in place the same way, or so I’d imagine.
