In this drama, what I see is that, no one is gentleman. One (Wei) is fighting for his past, for which many of his loved ones have sacrificed ( This type of character won't hesitate in taking others life). The only goodness, he can have is his purpose of bringing good life (salvation from slavery) to his peoples and give them justice. While, the other (Pei) is fighting for his future. But he has , in a viewpoint, held her as hostage, & put her life in danger on purpose. The drama hadn't yet made clear, Wei's purpose of saving her - kindness or because she was the only witness. So, here the characters are hard to understand, because there is only little goodness. I think the writer has only put all goodness in Ci. So, our suspicion is justified that why Wei not Pei. The dramas must give an impactful answer to this.
