Sigma's New Lenses | Field Test - 14-24mm f/2.8 Art and 45mm f/2.8 Contemporary

I got my 14-24mm today and the weather did not allow me to take it out. For me, I will be using mine to shoot predominately landscape and city skyline's along the Mighty Mississippi. Maybe, tomorrow the weather will cooperate enough for me to take a few shots. Thanks for the Field Test on the 14-24mm, especially.

I’m in the opposite boat, wide and ultra wide are my normal shots, so I picked up the 45mm to work on street and different framing for landscape. Definitely a challenge shifting point of views, but so far I’m impressed with though it shoots really different compared to my Sony and Batis experiences. Thank you for sharing, looking forward to your astro work!

I just received my copy in the mail and I have a question. Does your copy have what looks to be a "screen protector" like rectangle of clear film (not sure what the material is, plastic possibly) on the inner elements? It's very visible on mine of I shine a light through the front element. Just trying to find out if this is normal or if it's something possibly left over from the assembly process that wasn't removed. I can't see any effect on the images I shoot. Strange.

Thanks for the vid. Not sure why Sigma had released a 45mm f2.8 lens. The Samyang 45mm seems to be more attractive due to the higher aperture

I went with the 14-24, it came in today. unfortunately I haven't had much time to play with it, yet. The reason I chose the 14-24 over the 17-28 is because, even though 3mm doesn't seem like a lot, when side by side you definitely notice the difference. Next I want a gm 24-70, and then the 105mm. My pockets are getting a little shallow now, though.

Hmm.. I'm deciding between this one or Tamron 17-28mm but I like those 14mm more. It's really wide! What about filters on this lens? You can put some filters from back of the lens but I don't know what to think about this. Anyone knows more about this? Thanks 😇

thx, for this great video. I love my Sigma 14-24mm lens. From my perspective the best ulta wide angle lens for full frame camera (Sony Alpha 7 MIII)

Madam, By profession i do weddings, and by true heart i do & love to take extreme wide shots of landscapes, nature, mountains and architecture. I am looking for lens which is sharp image from edge to edge with much more clarity and lesser distortion, no chromatic aberration, In my wedding projects i love to take close wide shots with bride and groom. shall i go with the Sigma Art 14-24.2.8 DG DN or Tamron 17-28 2.8 D3, Do let me your thoughts on this. Would rather the Tamron 17-28, sharper and you can use filters. 14mm is too wide and you’ll always be zooming in a little 👍🏼

The Tamron is not that sharp in the corners. Those who used both tells the Sigma eats Tamron for breakfast.

Some prefer the wider look of 14mm. Really depends on the shot that you are going for. This 14-24 does take gel filters on the back of the lens and there are some third party solutions to add filters in the front if filters are important for you.
