The average CEO salary has soared 1,209.2% since 1978 compared with a 15.3% rise in typical workers’ pay. Exploiting cheap labor is one way the rich get richer. The reason little is made in the U.S. is corporate greed.

Back in the days, there was pride in American made products that lasted for years. Like GE, Admiral, when you bought a refrigerator or TV it lasted for years. Now, it doesn’t matter what brand, things only last 2 weeks after the “one” warranty expires so that you go buy another one. People forget one minor factor. Greedy politicians, greedy manufacturers, and yes even greedy people are the ones to blame. The mighty Dollar made this country strong, and the mighty Dollar has been destroying the US for years now. The American union worker wants very top high wages for insignificant simple tasks that anyone could perform. Simple, people demand top wages, products will cost you top wages. Sort of, “Never satisfied” mentality.

If Maytag moves washer manufacturing back to the US, you are not suddenly going to have a washer that lasts for forty years. lol 😅 US citizens will be paying more for imported goods … which is practically everything they use. Your companies and corporations shut down factories decades ago and shifted production to Asia where they found cheap labor. They gave your jobs away. Now they want you to pay more for goods made in factories or grown on farms overseas. The tariffs will create more wealth for companies like Amazon and Walmart. A large percentage of U.S. food is exported from Mexico and other South American countries. Enjoy the rise in food prices because of the Trump tariffs. The ones who voted for it don’t even understand how tariffs work. Also many people around the world are calling for a boycott of U.S. goods. The countries DJT is raising tariffs on can bypass the U.S. and trade with other countries. BRICS is now rapidly expanding. Remember when he was selling his suits in Macys that were made in Mexico and his ties and products for his properties that were made in China? He’s never cared about ‘Made in the USA.’

The Mexican Government shell game, despite the movement of U.S. Auto production; Auto engines, parts supply, huge Agricultural trade, Mexico has warmed up to Communist PRC China. Agreements have been made to place an Electric Vehicles manufacturing plant in Mexico. The PRC'S plan is to make their inexpensive Electric Vehicles in Mexico. This will open Central and South American trade as the China EV's flood those markets. However, it has been widely published that the inexpensive EV's will also be purchased by Americans in Mexico and upon return to the U.S., Americans will demand access to China's EV's cars that have proven inexpensive reliable Auto's. This obviously is a threat to the U.S. Auto Industry. Which is facing the ongoing influx and sales of foreign European vehicles, Japan and South Korea are also providing EV's as well. The emerging Tariff war with our top alli and trading partner Canada is disappointing and makes U.S. economic troubles far more complex and difficult. The massive illegal entry of Fentanal is evidently coming across both Mexico and Canada's borders along with "Illegal immigrants." Chemicals to make the extremely addictive Fentanal are coming from China! Despite discussions with the Xi led PRC and agreements to make efforts at stopping the illegal smuggling of the building block Chemicals, the influx has not stopped. Mexico is a Cheif location where Drug Cartels thrive and produce the end product Fentanal. Despite billions of U.S. dollars being made because of U.S. manufacturing moving into Mexico, the Mexican government has agreed to put in place large manufacturing facilities with Communist China. Yes, the tough U.S. stance is more than justified. No matter what the long term outcome maybe it is obvious that Mexico has not respected the U.S. contributions in assisting Mexico grow it's industrial base!

And let’s say the cardboard is on trucks that leave Canada into United States to Mexico. Then the finished pens are then loaded onto trucks into America. Bic would have to pay tariffs at least twice to make a cheap plastic pen. A pack of 10 pens would go from $1.57 to $2.45. That’s a 56% price increase.

Here's the issue... Canada tariff US products sold in Canada... why not tariff Canadian products sold in America? Get rid of NAFTA.

You know how she could respond better….. offer Americans citizenship. They have a dozen eggs for $2.00. They would have an influx of retirees on tight budgets

Nothing comes from either country that we can’t do without. Very happy with my garden and chickens right now. It’s only going to get better as deportations increase. No longer will scummy companies and illegal labor be able to undercut legitimate American businesses

It amuses me that people seem to think that if you put a tarrif on a country's goods that American businesses aren't going to be the ones paying the tarrif. All this "They need to pay up" talk is incredibly dumb when you realize that other countries aren't going to spend a dime more. The goods that Americans and American businesses buy will just be more expensive. Much more like a sales tax than people realize.
