To determine if a player is a Hall of Famer, Mike asks two questions:
1. Is he a Hall of Famer?
2. Did he have 8-10 Hall of Fame seasons? A Hall of Fame season is "a top season."
Fortunately, Mike does not have a vote. Stay away from aspartame, kids.

I love how Mike's 1st thought when thinking if someone is a hall of famer is asking himself "is he a hall of famer?". That is deep analysis right there.

If a player doesn't pass his "first test" why would you need the "second test"?

LOL, "I have a simple test for the HOF, was the guy a HOF?" LOL, How the hell is that a test?? He's asking himself a subjective question and he's giving himself the answer. "A guy needs 8-10 HOF seasons to be a HOF" First off what's a "HOF season" that sounds awfully subjective and vague. It's probably some incredibly high set of seasonal numbers that would force you to throw out about 150 of the 200 HOF. And then even if a guy has those numbers it doesn't mean he's a HOF to Mike because in the end it comes down to whether Mike feels/thinks he's a HOF.

Who are they talking about?

Craig Biggio I believe was the guy they were talking about. He’s 1 of the rare guys who I wouldn’t have voted in with 3,000 hits I myself like dominating players Yaz, Aaron, Brett, Albert Belle, Dick Allen examples. Those guys dominated their era Biggio was a very good player but the Hall of Fame to me is for a select few many in there shouldn’t be Bill Mazorski, Lee Smith, Harold Baines, Craig Biggio, Ted Simmons, Jeff Bagwell I’m sorry very good players not Hall of Fame worthy to me. Now guys on the outside to me who should be in & aren’t Albert Belle, Dick Allen they weren’t friendly people but I don’t care dominated their era. Now not popular I’ll give guys who might make it to me who shouldn’t Bernie Williams, Keith Hernandez, Don Mattingley, Jim Edmonds & Todd Helton all those guys great careers they should be proud of very good players but not Hall of Famers in my opinion that should be a small group Seaver, Koufax, Bench, Mays, Ted Williams, Frank Robinson those guys belong in that room they were dominating players.
