Mike tells his two guests, Steve Fainaru and Mark Fainaru-Wada, authors of "League of Denial" that he read their book in one night. It's clear from his earlier statements that he's lying to them.

How come he repeats himself endlessly. Does he think we are listening the first 5 times he says something

I can't speak for anyone else, but I listen to Mike Francesa because he is so bad that it's comedy. I assume that a lot of his audience is the same.

Agree totally. He has fallen so far from the early days. I listen now just to hear the prank calls.

Why are people so quick to jump on mike all the time. He probably meant he read 60% of the book in one night. I just don't get guys like phil mushnik who jump all over every word he says, and in reality all he does is complain about mike. That's his career. Mushnik is a hack, and I just think people jump all over everything he says. He's the best at what he does, and he's been doing it longer than anyone else. He can be a jerk sometimes, but when he is the person usually deserves it.

Maybe he fell asleep reading the other 40% of it.

in fairness to mike, most of his listeners probably aren't big "readers" and might be especially discouraged from purchasing the book if it took longer than one night to read. i think he told a white lie to help his guests make some sales. i don't think he's trying to pass himself off as a speed reader.

The day before He had Bobby Orr He said that He read his book. For someone who has no use for hockey, how would He know Orr wrote a book AND take the time to read it as He said. Unless, He was only looking at the pictures!

People get all up in arms over semantics. So he read 60% of it one night and sounds like he finished it the next night before the authors came in. So when Mike said, off the cuff, "its a great book, I read it in one night, you can't put it down", should he have been more clear w/ the authors and said "its a great book, I read just over half of it the first night, then the next night I picked it up and finished it, you can't put it down". Semantics people, who cares!!!!

Let's examine your hypothetical STATEMENT: "I read it in one night and you can't put it down" REALITY: "I haven't read all of it, only 60%" CONCLUSION: Flat out, conscious lie. Not semantics, sorry.

The issue is he said on Sunday that he had just started it. Then on Monday he said he was 60% through it. Then on Tuesday when the authors were in studio he said he read it in one night. Why? Who knows. Maybe he was so high on opiates he didn't realize what he had said the previous 2 days. Either way, it's just fun to poke fun at Mike. He's a dolt. :-)

Why listen to someone you don't like. I would never tell anyone what to do, but if I don't like something, I don't watch it, and if it's on the radio I don't listen to it. It's as simple as that. To each his own though, and I do respect your opinions.

I think 1 and 2 are the same. Exaggerating is a form of lying.
