Dan Waldvogle- Is the director of External Affairs for the Rocky Mountain Farmers Union, representing family farming and ranching operations across New Mexico, Colorado, and Wyoming. A first generation rancher, who has managed a 5th generation cattle operation in Salidas, Colorado that added on pastured pork, pastured poultry and composting. Dan has worked in Ag policy, land and food access and succession programming and he is passionate about fostering a fledgling local food industry with aspirations of local meat processing and vegetable preservation shops in his own local community. His work with the Farmer’s Union focuses on ensuring profitability of independent ag operations and fortifying the viability of rural communities through national advocacy and legislation. Dan will cover The Farm Bill and will update us on the status of this large piece of national legislation.
