What kind of system is used guiding the headstock? Seems like air bearings to me, but that's kind of heard to imagine.

Box guide ways also for ram stroke - laser-hardened, in oposite corners of the ram. We use box guide ways as a standard also for X, Y and Z axes for this machine type...
