This episode of Untold Stories introduces cowboys, cowgirls, citrus growers and pickers of Desoto County, Florida. We'll learn about the fire that destroyed Arcadia, and meet some of the town's pioneer families. We find out what Saturday night downtown was all about in the 1920's and 30's And, yes, we'll head to the rodeo to learn when and how this "ride'em cowboy" tradition got started.
The sunshine state has a rich and colorful history. For hundreds of years the state has attracted dreamers, opportunists, inventors and fortune-seekers. WGCU's Untold Stories aims to preserve the history of Southwest Florida communities.

I visited with Howard Melton at his home in Arcadia in about 2008 or 2009. He was very kind and spent about an hour talking to me. He was the author of several books of local history. I think he passed away a few years ago.

So if there were Aboriginals.....that means British Slaves from Australia. I was not aware ..... If you have an Indigenous verification via oral or written history, post it. As you can tell through the offensive thread before this asking if you are tired of being a victim - the interest in Arcadia is not just historical. It would seem a thread of interest.....so I think what they meant to say was....there's absolutely nothing decendants of Aboriginals aren't allowed by law...which in Australia is true, the Tribe sued the British Colonial government and got rights to all of Australia's National parks, making the Aboriginal indigenous the wealthiest tribe, followed only by the Seminole Nation from Hard Rock Cafe rights.

It was plenty. these peasants are just reminiscing on their thuggish ways and if you watch the entire video I hope you did, you’d see how they STOLE land that belonged to just the people you’re asking about. merica isn’t the place it’s drawn out to be.
