May I ask if, nag apply ka ba sa JET Program while in teaching and resign after knowing you are qualified for the program? 😊 Medyo curious lang po sa naging arrangement ng application mo. I applied for the JET Programme and waited for the final results before I submitted my resignation letter to my school. The application runs for 6 months so I will advice that you wait for the final list of participants before leaving your current job. Resigning from Public School is a bloody complicated process and just like other companies, you are expected to submit a resignation intent to the school at least 30 days before the reflectivity of your resignation. With my experience, I had approximately 2 months to apply for my resignation, leave my current school, and undergo the process of "clearance" before I fly to Japan. The week before the departure is really busy so you might want to set a resignation date a week before your flight. I won't advice you to set a date anywhere closer to your date of departure . Hello Ms. Margarette! I love your video. Learned a lot from it dear. Can I ask if it's possible to apply for the JET program if you're already in Japan? I have been since Nov2015 because my (Filipino) husband was moved to their company's plant here in Hamakita. Despite being here in the past 3 years, I still haven't learned their language. Is Nihonggo a requirement in the program? I am glad to see that you seem to enjoy your job here in Japan. How did you dind the culture? the work environment? I do not have a job here but hubby and kids are telling me about how stressful life can be outside the four corners of our home. Looking forward to more of your videos about your life here in Japan. Btw, keep on smiling. It's contagious! 😀😀😀

Hi ! I'm glad you find my vlogs helpful. Thanks for watching! Regarding your question, there are ELIGABILITY CRITERIA to consider as you apply into the JET Programme. One of the criteria discusses about applicants who are applying from Japan and have resided in Japan for a specific period of time. I left a link in the description of this vlog, make sure to download the initial docs. Check the JET APPLICATION GUIDELINES document for infos about this matter 😊 Good luck! 😊

If I remember it right, they accept applicants no older than 45 years old by the time of application. Please kindly refer to the JET General Guidelines to reassure this. 😊

Do we really have to learn how to speak Nihonggo in order for us to work there as an ALT? 🙂

Hi ! Being able to speak Nihonggo is not a requirement BUT it knowing the basic will help you with your daily life.

Hi Kim! Sorry it took me a long while to respond. I'm on vacay 😉 Well, I'll advice you to write down the reasons to help the screening committee to know why you've prefered such prefectures 😊

@@kimalejo6126 Hi ! As per my papers, I asked my reccomendees to enclose their letter in an envelope and sign the across the flap and body. 😊 It worked for me that time. So, maybe it might still be good this time 😉 Good luck! 😊

Hi Erickson! For the tips on getting into the programme, I'll another video about it. I hope you stay tune for that 😊 One general advice though, make sure to FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTION VERY CAREFULLY. For the paper screening, since you do not have a chance to explain yourself, you must send them the message that you can follow instructions well. Good luck! 😊
