Have and love that Caetano! And his name is fun to say! Just snagged the s/t album from 1969 that is all white with only his name written on it. Super happy to have found that.

Cool that you have that Caetano record. S/T seems cool. I've never actually discovered this one. Just put it on and it's off to a GREAT start! Thanks for the recommendation! Gonna see if I can track this one down!

Hey there, Curtis! Thanks for dropping by the channel and for the congrats! Appreciate it :-) KZbin is a TON of work (and fun) so it's nice to hit a big milestone every now and again! Yeah, have a feeling you'll love Caetano! Check him out. His discography is enormous but I imagine the one I showed is a great place to start! Best from Tokyo!

Just getting reintroduced to Phish. Bought “Evolve” on a whim after hearing the title track and it’s by far my favorite album this year. What’s your top 5 favorite Phish albums? Where should I go next? I have Billy Breathes from way back when and also love it. I really like your channel. Thank you for taking us around Tokyo!

Hey there @michaelgermano8084! Thanks for the message. Great to hear that you are really digging on Evolve. I think it's a really representative work of where the band is now. Hmmm. Your questions is a hard one. Billy Breathes is probably my favorite, not necessarily because it's the best collections of songs (though it arguably is) but because it came to me in a particular moment in life where everything coalesced and it just marks a time for me more than any others. I also love "Hoist", and "Rift" and "A Live One" all 3 which immediately precede Billy Breathes, and their first record is great, "Junta." "Ghost" and "Farmhouse" are beloved, but they both start to mark a moment when I wondered if Phish could still do what I loved them to do (not really allowing them to Evolve) so they are not what I reach for more. I love "Fuego" and maybe would would point you there, a great later record that could lead you backwards down the number line. Good luck!

@@tokyorecordstyle I went with Rift mainly because it was at the store. But glad I did. It is so good. Track 4 (I don’t remember the name) blew me away. So stinking good. Thanks again!

Glad you enjoyed! Can't go wrong with Rift! Keep my posted on your Phish journey. Best from Tokyo!

I’ve never had a Velvet Underground album but I just about got the banana album. Brian at Embryonic Robot said it was one of his top ten favourite albums, and it came up on Yahoo Auction last week for ¥1. I bid, and over the next few days a bidding war continued. It went up to ¥1,320 with me placing the bid. I thought that would be my last bid. And then the bidding went silent. Finally, I checked when there were only 13 minutes left on the auction and still no one else had bid. So I thought I would actually get the album. But when I checked back 15 minutes later, the auction was over and someone had swooped in with a final bid. So still no VU.

Don't tell anybody you don't own any Velvet Underground! ;-) Yes, they are one of my favorites too, but I admit, they might be a bit of an acquired taste. Sometime I listen to them and they just sound horrible ...but even then you can always hear something so pure and true deep down in those gritty recordings. The first one is fantastic, but my favorite is their last, "Loaded" but to be honest, I WISH the first one was my favorite, cuz it's infinitely cooler than Loaded, way more edgy and experimental, and not trying to be a pop record, like Loaded is (plus, their incredible droning viola player John Cale is not on loaded, and he is maybe what originally attracted me to the Velvets), but what can I say, I'm a sucker for some sappy 3-min pop song I guess. Loaded is a perfect confluence of that first record and what was on the radio at the time. Once you get the banana record, I recommend going straight for Loaded. Good Luck, Enjoy, and thanks for checking on the video and the comment!

@@tokyorecordstyle So the Velvets titled an album Loaded. Metallica titled an album Loaded. Then Lou Reed did an album with Metallica. Hmm…
