GReat that the tracks were so dry....and refreshing to hear a tuber keeping it real with the sore back, cramp etc...thanks for the sharing

Yes I was loving those dry trails. Thanks Nigel keeping it real is the only way to go. Looks like you had a good 50.

Brilliant Jase! That brought back all the pain... Funny how quickly you forget it! The family were all very stoked to see themselves cheering you on at the road crossing - Thanks for putting that in! 😁

Hi Dan, yes the pain is suprisingly easy to forget. I had to put it in for the support they were giving. I think I will ride the Firebird next year.

@@jaselikesbikes that's a bloody marvellous idea! Probably still put an hour or two into me though. 😅

Well done, you finished! A big effort to film it all too, as it’s extra mental energy during the race.

Cheers it was a tough one. Hopefully injury free by the next one.

Cool insight into the race. The climb after the bag drop to Billy T was a killer. I was managing cramp for the rest of the race after that. Mossy loop was a good rest. At 90km I said never again 🤣🤣. Now I'm thinking one more time. Can't leave the creek crossing like I did🤕😁

Sounds like we had a similar race. I saw cramping everywhere. I am also thinking.. just one more! See you there.

Amazing effort despite all that it threw at you well done!! We raced the 50km (were supposed to do 100km last year but couldn't manage the training to try again). Such an awesome event 😃
@jaselikesbikes2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Megan and we’ll done with the 50. The event seems to have been even better this year. They did a great job. Maybe the 100 next year although I might have put you off!
@meganschultz16972 жыл бұрын
@@jaselikesbikes Thank you 🙂 Nah not put off as it shows you can still complete it if you put your mind to it. I rode the complete course on the January date so I unofficially completed it. Might give it another go one day as it does feel like the one that got away

Awesome Video and congrats for finishing the race. You dug deep and did it! I can't believe how many obstacles you had though, awesome effort 👍 I've decided to sign up for it next years Whaka100, it's been 3 years since I did, and I have a long way to go to get fit for it.

Such a cool event this one! I took part in the 25km race and the only downside was that they cut out 5kms of the course, so we only ended up doing about 20kms which was unfortunate.
@jaselikesbikes2 жыл бұрын
Yes it is, I thought the 25km was short, some of the times were crazy quick!
@randommountainbiker93052 жыл бұрын
@@jaselikesbikes Yeah there were some crazy quick people racing in the 25km.
