Well you inspired me. I had basically quit BDO for the last 6 months, just logging in once in a while to BA with friends. I'd hit the C10/tets/jetina ring softcap around 670. Recently I started just doing some Orcs and buying up caphras and tapping for tri FG and I hit tri, got some caphras levels, and am at 679 gear score. I'm 3 bil away from another AP bracket and very close to finishing my other AP ear cup as well. Lots of solid gains and I'll be ready for fallen god boots/gloves to shoot me up into the 690s when they drop. Your wild discipline to do this made me try to get a bit more done in the game and stop being a weenie about it. Great series.

you dont really need to make smart choices, all you need is grind at 1 bil/hour. years ago you had to make smart choices, build a strong worker empire use workshops and enhance, because back in the day, you couldnt buy gear and you would make 50 mil or less per hour. the players in the past got fucked over essentially

Cool man! Proved a lot! Albeit there is a huge factor in that you have had 7 years to learn all this, refine, and then not only made all the right moves, but also didn't have to learn your class, which is another huge factor. This game has a million different ways to distract you, confuse you, get you to heavily invest in ways that are counter productive toward the end goal, that this is a bit unrealistic to expect of anyone new, or even half way there to be able to mimic. But you putting the content up to be followed will be super helpful for anyone wanting to, and it does seem doable if you stick to that path.

Bravo! I essentially took the similar route. Coming back to the game last November found out that my account was gone, I started from scratch using all the knowledge I had from 2017 and exactly 3 months later (91 days) I am currently 294/296/363 with PEN disto/tungrad neck/valtarra. I rather focused on the enhancing side of the game and really started tapping those ap accessories whenever I could. Met with you at the Calpheon Ball in LA, it was a pleasure meeting you there! This series has been an absolute banger and I loved it. My current mob kill count is 1.19 million and I spent a little over 700 USD mainly for the functions (failstack slots & character slots, inventory, weights and storage slots etc)

There are about 10 other classes that are just as good or better than succ zerk grinding, but compared to let's say the bottom 5 classes, probably around 15% faster with maybe 20% in the worst case scenario

Sorry late comment but his gear progression is literally just the standard gear progression any player would suggest to you but I’ll summarize here 1. Get pen Tuvala everything 2. Start jetina pen boss and pen accessory 3. OPTIONAL! While still on season server grind for inf potions (you want seasonal for the added cash flow from seasonal drops) 4. Do magnus quest for guaranteed pen boss armor (whatever armor slot you’re not going for with Jetina) 5. Grind for money until you can get tet BS or Pen Kzarka 5.5 IF YIU CHOSE KZARKA then grind caphras as well 6. Run the dungeon weeklies, dark rifts, world bosses, etc 7. Do journals to get the ap and dp points 8. Grind money for remaining pen accessories 9. Eventually save up enough caphras for C20 Kzarka or pen BS 10. Reach 700gs!

honestly the only difference between the cash shop tent and free tent is that you cannot repair your gear on the free one, not easily anyways. The free one you also need to purchase a shop contract once a week but its only 14mil which is nothing and its sold in all major towns.

Tapping can boost you if you are lucky, but also delay your gains if you are unlucky. So for new players that don't know what to tap just keep the stacks and use them later when you learned the game a bit better, this way you will use your resources more efficiently. If you want to learn about enhancing, just google the guides or watch the streamers that enhance gl.

It is worthwhile to point out... Inflation has hit the game pretty hard over the years. If you do not play enough or if you take long breaks, you will forever be behind the inflation wave. The only way to get ahead of the group in BDO is a lot of play time in a shorter period of time. I guess my point is that 485 hours in a short burst of time really takes advantage of new grind zone silver/hr. Casual players that plays that "485" spread out over a year or two of their game time will never catch up and forever be behind in gear score as long as new gear and grind zones keep coming out. love your videos Choice thanks for doing them.

The problems with your argument is that the income also scale with the inflation. Yeah in 2017 it is hard to see a billion silver but it is also hard to reach 100m/h in grind at that time. I mean centaur and kratuga can almost match the income in the high end spot.

@@MichaelMacaluso you are definitely right, but your items also rise with inflation. if you sit on silver then yes it will be quite devalued, but if you buy a pen narc it rises in price along with that inflation. Some exceptions will be pen boss armor which didn't rise over time, but every other item did realistically.

@@ImChoice I have 7600ish hours in game and around 6million mobs killed. My gear value on garmoth is about 70bill higher than your EU zerk. Gear in BDO has a hard time holding value over long periods of time b/c the majority of the total silver value is gained withing the last year. My first year of playing BDO I had a liverto with Grunil gear. Dont get me wrong, I have had tons of fun playing the game over the years. The big take away from your Grind/Video Series is that most of the value you are going to get is going to be from the last yearish of game play. Especially with Tuvala gear being around. The ability to jump from Sycria to Orcs... you basically skipped 95% of the worlds "Out dated?" Grind ladder. Im not sure how I feel about all of it. Very educational non the less.

I would have loved to see it really from the start, even if it was just like a 15 minute video from absolute zero (i.e. creating the char) to level 61, because when I saw your "episode 0" you already had so much stuff when you started the series it was insane. In addition, while it's cool to see what's possible when so much time is invested and have it cut down to ~15 minute videos per week it would really have been great to have some sort of proper guide that people can actually follow. You are a master at the game, one of the very best, but most people are not and may have no clue what you are talking about or doing half of the time during these videos :D. On a different note, the amount of grinding you have to do in this game to get the stuff is actually quite off-putting. As you said yourself in the video, the vast majority of money came from grinding mobs day in day out, which not really fun to do onn such a big scale - and fun is what games are about, isn't it? I do grind maybe 2-3 times per week for 1h, that's about as much as I can handle without being really annoyed. I do enjoy other aspects of the game, I do quite a bit of life skilling, but the money from that is no comparison to grinding mobs, it's crazy. The same is true for leveling the character, PA have recently made it so you do get some combat EXP from life skilling, but it's very little compared to grinding and I feel like that is something that really should be improved. The focus on pure grinding is still way too big regarding investment/reward.

RANT - As a person who has only played for about 3 months between seasonals, mostly because i couldn't decide what class to play because they all look poop, this was really interesting to watch, I don't really think you were carried, but I do think your game knowledge and stuff is incredibly vital. A lot of people wouldn't attempt the stuff you do, and are probably more prone to quitting when they meet hurdles like DFS, and adventure logs. These things are incredibly time consuming and just annoy me personally, I was grinding kratuga and met a kuno who wanted to duel me, and for some reason just wouldn't leave me alone, i forfeited the spot to him, and for some reason just kept insisting on wanting to duel me. After I got basically pinned to the floor like a nerd getting smacked for his lunch money, i literally quit because the entire situation just pissed me off. I dont get these players, and why people are like this and i didn't want to find out, the gear diff in this game is brutal, and the players trying desperately to flex on you "politely" in this weird, unnecessary passive aggressive tone really wears down my motivation to commit to this game. It's not a good feeling catching up, especially when you know very little about the game, and you missed the golden opportunity to gain the organic game experience on launch, and you can never get that back, and instead, ur left with a bunch of people who have played the game for years, have tons of game sense and knowledge and for some reason they don't seem to mind flexing it on you. It's just stupid. And its mainly why I quit. This game is super hard to learn, and imo its mainly because there are not any substantial elements in the game that ACTUALLY teach you anything. You dont have fly text to tell you what is going on, despite the sporadic action that occurs, its near impossible to confirm ur damage, or even how hard you hit, and when you have that ontop of gear difference etc, it honestly feels like you're wasting your time trying to catch up to a moving target. SUMMARY - This video series, honestly, was sobering, it made me feel like the goal is a lot closer than i originally thought, and was really comforting for a new player, i've been playing the game again, and its hard, mostly because i know nothing, but i feel like i have a real goal now, and i have some kind of idea on how to achieve it. thx a lot, honestly. This is solid work There are some qualms I have about the video, i'll admit, but I'll find a way to overcome it. Thanks so much

If KZbin allowed double thumbs-up I would give it to every video in this series. Absolutely fantastic. I look at this series as THE benchmark for new players looking to gear-up in 2023. I am a returning player with years of knowledge of the game and I learned quite a few things watch (I will probably watch them all again to be honest). So much has changed...and so much is the same. Thank you for completing this huge project!

1 extra info, 500 hrs for a new player or for someone who doesn't know how to min max is like 1500-2000 hrs . 500 hrs is not realistically and yes you have guides and videos about ,but you still need to watch them, understand them , test it , see if you like the methot ,etc.

It's way more than that for a new player. New players won't run at a fraction of this efficiency. They don't even know what an Orc is.
