After grinding the demo for too long and watching your videos, I would say one of the most important lesson is setting up your own controls and learning how much you can make your riding easier with them. Smoother controls and personal setup helped a lot. Like you used 91% gain on lean, which means you are sacrificing max lean angle, but you're not crashing because of it. I tried it as well and even that small change helped (the whole control video was inspiring). Now I can ride without any rider aids and I reach 2:05's on the practice track thanks to those tips The full game could be a good christmas gift for myself. E: After few months of playing I've gone back to 100% lean. Lower lean input was good for a beginner

+1 to this. I dropped mine to 93% and my lap times dropped almost 5-7 seconds on each track. Same with setting up the combined brakes properly. Just hit 100 hours and never enjoyed learning a game as much as this. This coming from someone who probably has over 1000 hours on MXSim

​@@cameronstoker i suppose i should preface this with saying everyone is different and at different skill levels, but here is my setup for brakes Front brake - L trigger rear brake - R bumper Front brake Dead zone - 35% Linearity - 200% Gain - 50% rear brake Dead zone - 0% Linearity - 200% press - 60% release - 5% gain - 50% Combined settings Min 15% max 150% This changed my braking confidence entirely, especially on braking zones in close proximity to landings. Little chance of accidental lockup and can still use the brakes mid turn without sliding out. Maybe this only works for me, but man once I dialed this in my confidence in cornering ability skyrocketed

Im about a week late but Lommel is a great example on a track to get better on. Ripping around on it, especially on a 125, really teaches you control and how to properly choose where and how you go about a track.

i only have about 10 hours in the game, but learning the game on 125’s is very important, it teaches you how to rail the corners instead of using the quick get up and go with the 450’s

It teaches you to swear a lot. I’m not even at 5 hours and I get pissed off frequently. I’ve picked it up fairly quickly but consistency is so tough. Also it’s really hard to judge traction limits often.

@@crimsom2977 Huh? I said it’s really tough to judge traction etc. Also, wouldn’t a broken game be harder than a non broken one? Being broken and being hard aren’t mutually exclusive. I find it that it takes a little to get used to the basics, and then the learning curve gets exponentially steeper the faster and more consistent you want to be. I obviously need to put more hours in to really get the hang of consistency and speed. Also need to get used to the rider weight etc. Anyway, it’s not the easiest game to learn but that’s also why it’s more fun once you’re good.

That's at least an interesting thing about actually riding. There's so much input from all parts of your body you get good really fast. Also the jumps in this game make me cringe every time. Those front wheel high landings on flats from fuckin 100 footers should leave the rider dead with a shattered spine lmao. Do they not have a MAX G rating to prevent landings like this? I know a sim can only be so good, but this shit is straight up wacky at times.
