I agree as Indian. I lived in Germany for a year. Actually, Germans are very humble. The first impression can be different. But if you give enough time, you will slowly see who they are for real. Good people. ❤ If you start off humble, you see the most beautiful side of Germans. If you come across as full of yourself and judgemental, they act cocky too. For those talking about inflexibility - Indians are disorderly. It is not flexibility. That is not the correct word for Indians. The correct words are chaos and disorder. Germans are the opposite. And about paper and not electronic, Germans know it is still safe to follow some traditional systems. No one can hack anything. Don't underestimate a country that created SAP. Indians are very inflexible wherever they go. There is little India in all the countries and hanging out with only Indian people eating Indian food. Indians can't assimilate or adapt and learn from others. I feel like Indians are the lousy cousins of Germans.

Cleanliness look at the toilets and passages at all main Railway stations, , German Products are contaminated with chinese spare parts. A coffee machine today has a life span of two years now. The local culture has changed. It is becoming more and more woke.

Very level headed individual and the reporter. In order to understand German culture (apart from drinking beer !) you need to be honest, transparent and direct. Once you reach this basic level, you will get acceptance relatively easily. Never exaggerate what you do or achieved - that will backfire easily in Germany. Your reputation is achieved by doing not by your auntie.

"People have mixed opinon", but which one and why. It's beating around the bush, in German "um den heißen Brei reden". To refer to "eywaves", you are not transparent and not direct. If humans are different, it would result in "it's impossible to give a general opinion about Germany", cause there are people of any kind. A phrase like "I'm glad that your 30 years of experience have given you favorable experiences and that's great" is pure emotion, it's polite, but doesn't give any information and if applied often, it feels like you waste time for beeing polite. It can be considered a good social skill, also good if you are a therapist, but not good among engeneers. Mutual feelgood is not the goal of their project. This is what I wanna say to everyone who wants to go to Germany or to any other countries. This is for my Indian friends. Stop going to other countries because it's a trend! Go if it's your passion, or something that motivated you for years, otherwise you'll be disappointed. I wanted to get out of Indian for years and I was not able to do because of my financial situation. Soon I'll be able to move away from India, not because of a trend, but I'm doing this because this is what I wanted to do since I was a kid. And no, it's not a heaven outside India, but it's not a heaven in India. Wherever you go, if it's the place you always wanted to be, you'll be happy. Just don't ruin other's dream by going to another country just because you got the money and you're following a trend. Then you go there and ruin everything and create a bad reputation for others. And about getting into the circles of German people. I don't know what this guy was doing for 5 years. I've made really good German friends online within few months, who helped me more than any of my Indian friends. Yeah it's hard for them to trust you at first, but don't rush it, be respectful and don't be a creep. And another important thing, many Indians mess up with this. Don't bring all your cultural and traditional baggage to another country. Try to assimilate with the people who lives there and try to be part of their community other than making a small India wherever you go, because that's when they start to look at you like an outsider who makes trouble. And about the German language. If you want to learn a language, you need the motivation to do it. And if you're finding German hard to start with, then I recommend you to start watching a series called Dark ( Dunkel) watch all episodes with German audio with German subtitles. Yeah you won't understand anything but you'll get really familiar with the sounds and everything, then you'll get rid of the starting block. And if anyone who is interested in doing masters in Germany, you can hit me up and I can maybe try to help you if I get time. I choose to do all process myself rather than spending 2 lakhs on some agency.

They b we benefit so much from being in Germany and they don't want others to enjoy it, and more people coming to Germany means less opportunity to those who talk shit about Germany while staying there. I was supposed to come to Germany next month but because of the flooding number of people applying for visa due to the trend, I was not able to get an early appointment thus I sadly had to defer. So you are really fortunate and lucky in that regards. I have a lot of good German friends who have decades of German history, and what I can tell you is that , yes there are so many bad and disgusting people in Germany, maybe more so than the good ones, but a lot of these bad people are not just Germans but immigrants who went there and don't respect the opportunity Germany gave them. If you look for the right people, you can easily find really good German friends who are really trust worthy. Just be respectful and take your time, don't try to rush it . And please try to respect Germany and the people, and try to assimilate with the people rather than being divided. Good luck on your journey man.

To be honest, Germans actually aren't that highly updated with tech skills, some places I saw them using Excel 2010 in 2024. It was unbelievable. They accept people blindly based on German skills, even though one sucks in tech skills. They are rigid as hell, ain't so flexible to change. They want foriegner with C1 German from Day 1. Salary is actually quite less considering the amount of tax deductions and cost of living especially in Munich, Hamburg or Stuttgart. Except peaceful life and no choas, everything else feels like from a black and white film (1960s)... paper based salary slips, taxes come in mail box...only cash not card...I wonder how they exist in today's world. Sometimes my country India feels advanced. Really surprised with Germany being unnecessarily so complicated. The Management of things is quite poor and high time they adopt english to attract foriegn workers, or else this recession will make their country suffer...Worst of all is the waiting times, every document at least takes 2-3 months to process, one e-mail reply takes 1 week....Patience has left the chat actually. Youre experience might be quiet random, everything can depend on the employer or the random people you meet. Compared to India, Germany is still more equal, comparing "rich and poor". It's kind of 5% poor and 5% super rich, and in between are all the people calling themselve the middle. That's more unequal in India I think.

Loss of hair is something that starts quite early, young men often experience it before they are 25 years old. It's only some kind of thick baby fur they lose in that early age. Usually it will decrease after some months and stabilize on a much lower level, long before they get baldheads. But every young man should take a look at his father's hair. It's very likely that he will look quite similar at the same age, and it would be childish to try and fight the things that will come.

Studied in Germany in the year 2012-2014, did my Masters there. Aside from the University life, everything sucked big time. Terrible people with horrible mentality about everyone foreign. They talk ill of everyone, never really understood why. Learnt German till B1 level and then quit. Moved to the Netherlands after, been here for a good 10 years now, people are decent, speak respectfully in English and guess what I learnt Dutch!!! (Purely out of respect, I had for the people - Ja, Ik spreek nederlands)

Only if they come in larger groups, they are able to build circles (sub-communities). But mostly during job and school and so on, they get in contact with "everybody". I don't even have a pattern to "scan" people for their origin. Of course India is more sticking out visually.

@rohanutep81 ussualy one has to pay a semester fee, which depends on the university. I had to pay around 100 euro (state university) In this money is included a transportation ticket, so you can travel for free only inside your university city. The amount can vary from university to university.

Same level results from same behaviour. Indians often have the habit of beeing very devote, calling everybody Sir and Mister (as the only country in the world, I have noticed this ..OK Pakistan also, that's the muslim india). To be respected you have to know phrases like "you are wrong", "No", "That's bullshit". This is, what it means to be "honest". Honest is the opposite of Polite. Even Americans may struggle on this bareer in Germany.
