What a solid front 9! I think you have the potential to be way lower than a 9 handicap. I think you hit all your fairways in regulation and 4 greens in regulation which works out to 44% GIR. I think a 44% GIR rate usually equates to about a 6 handicap. Thank you for posting this video and please share more of your stats if you keep track of them. It would be interesting to see your GIR stats and up-and-down stats as well as number of putts per round.

I'm officially a 23hcp player and shot a 5 over 41 on the front 9 of my local course last week. Then was at 8 over through 14 holes, only to then have a nasty meltdown and finish with a very frustrating 91 total. Still, my best score ever
@ShaanTahirGolf

I am struggling with Stroke Play nowadays too. 1 bad hole completely ruins the entire round. But still, if you've made a 91 you are no longer officially a 23 hcp player. So that's something to celebrate for sure. This round should give you a lot of confidence to play even better..

Here’s how I finally got the score out of my mind. I never keep track, add it up at the end. When you finish 9, say to yourself.. Damn that was a great 9, feels like low 40s.. a little positive thought like that will carry you on back 9, you’ll break 90 I promise! A pro taught me this, keep the scoreboard out of your thoughts.. You’ll do it!

Hello hows your day? I want to share you This is a message from your loving God. God is a loving God and want to save us all. God dont want anybody to suffer or have a hard life. Meaning of life is love and that's what God wants. Thats the meaning of life. If we would take care and love each other that would solve all the problems. But world is not like that. World is a sinful world. God dont destroy this world but we humans do. His immediately ready if you want to serve him. God will show you the right path what leads to life. Its a path of love. God made us and have eternal love and mercy. This world is not what God wanted. But he gave us free will. You can choose good or bad. Thats why he send he's only son Jesus that we had mercy. Jesus is God too because he is God's only son. Now this world have went to very wicked and our God is crying. So many peoples are on the path of destruction. World have allways been wicked but now is extremely bad times going on. God want's peoples to come back to serve him and he wants to give forever life and happiness. God is a God of love, mercy, justice and a judgment. He love us peoples as much as hes son Jesus. There is one big lie going on this world. Its an evolution lie. First please think this thing. Why all the fruits, berrys and vegetables taste so good? Anybody can go to own home kitchen and try to do the same taste. Then look up please and watch those extremely beautiful birds. Do you really believe birds came from dinosaurs? We need very light bones, right size, correct shape, a bird's beak and feathers. And the same time birds are very beautiful. I send only these two questions to evolution professor and nothing came back(Why berries taste so good and how those little birds survived without wings) Then they say evolution gave animals camoflash to survive. Well if we look black panther. They say it's black because it's a night-time hunter and that black color also give it protection during night-time. First thing: evolution dont have brains and it gave that black color they say. Second thing: Please think how many shades of colors are and all animal have to be black. Third thing: Then they say there were many panthers with another color also and the best color was left. Because it's the best color in the nigh time. This is a lie also because: if you think like evolutionist's: the animals system also have to know to do black anymore. Rabbit is also brown when it's a summer and white when it's a winter. We need intelligence to do that. They say also evolution develops animals or Humans what kind of element we live. Why then fish have gills and whale have lungs? They say first came the first cell and that was finally a fish. And then finally fish came to land and it was frog or something. But thats inpossible because gills should also transform to lungs under the water. They brake their own logic when they say that. And how about a whale. Whale proves also God is real because it have lungs. Theory of evolution tells everything started from ocean. They also say that plants came from ocean and thats why we have now. Thats a lie because: The plants have an underwater pollination system. If something comes to the beach it will die for it. And they are breaking their logic again. Fish and other water animals and plants belong to sea. Only our loving God can create life and everything what we humans and animals need. People can try to think but the deeper we try to dig the more lost we are. We cant ever create life from nothing. A simple car engine also needs its maker, parts, fuel and the right structure to work. I had health problems about six years ago. Finally it was so bad i thought im gonna die. My heart was beating fast. My blood pressure was high. Then i started to lose my energy. When i try to walk my legs felt heavy and my stamina went very bad also. Then i started losing my sleep. Eventually i crashed a little into the road and asked God and Jesus to help. Finally I started to run in the toilet all the time too. Then the very awful thing came. I lost fastly almost all my ability to sleep and I started to loose my weight. Blood came out of my nose and I started to lost my hairs too. I visit hospitals and private hospitals too but they couldn't help me. They gave me beta blockers to my heart and finally medicine to my high blood pressure too. I wanted to get inside the hospital but they refused to take me in. In private hospitals they couldn't understand why they dont take me in the main hospital. Finally I contact to other country and I asked can you take me in the hospital. Then they asked where are you here? I told im in the other country and I need a help. But they told me we cant take you in because you dont live here. So I can tell you money didnt help me. Later I told my family im gonna die very soon because I felt completely awful. Finally I asked again God to help me. Then finally my Mother saw one Angel vision and three Jesus vision. After that it took few days and my health came back. I got my sleeping back and my heart started to calm down. I started to gain weight. Blood pressure went back to normal and finally I got all my hairs back. This Is very short version what happend to me but I was close to death. God Is real and loves us very much. When you begin to seek God you Will find True love. Read the Bible too please because its a perfect book. Thats how you know God Is real💕🙏. Read what Jesus told because its perfect talking💕🙏

tiny advice for chipping, slightly open the face, swing on the same line with a slight over the top cut, as well as looking slightly ahead of the ball almost always avoids thinning or chunking a chip. im super inconsistent lmao but i practice chipping 3 hours a day and finally found a technique thats near flawless for me, definitely recommend trying!

I agree this player is about a 9 handicap. Many comments below are confusing “course” handicap with “index” handicap. My bet is that this players index handicap is probably around a 5.5-6, but because of this course difficulty (slope/rating) his course handicap is probably around 9. Said differently, if he was playing a sub 6000yard easy course his course handicap might be less 5. This index handicap is constant but the course handicap changes based on course.

One advice I got which really helped my entire golf swing come together was maintaining the tempo. And the easiest way to do that is to slow down your backswing. Once you do that, everything else will fall into place and you will see you’ll automatically start easing into the downswing too. I did nothing else besides slowing my backswing which was a lot more difficult to do than I thought honestly.. Thank you for watching and commenting on the video.

youa are a very good player ...the quickest way to drop your index is to practice lag putting ..every time you play spend about 15 minutes before the round rolling long putts (30-50 footers) ...and after the round spend another 20-30 minutes doing the same thing...the goal is to get it down in 2 ..i used to hit a bucket of balls after my round but now i putt instead ....and was able to lower my index from 10 to 6.5 in 2 years... you strike it much better than i do so you could probably go much lower...good luck

That’s a good looking golf course. Played last 20 years in that 7-11 Handicap zone myself, so we’re very close in skill. You sure drive it nice, your 50yard game is good. Looks like you’ve taken some lessons, 3 wood for accuracy is a great plan even on longer Par 4s. Putting looked solid. Nice to see a humble 9 handicapper. With a little more speed and work around the greens I can see 4-5 in your future.

Thank you so much for watching and commenting. I need to work on consistency more than anything else. That's what I struggle with the most. Driving was good this day but other days it falls apart entirely. But I think this year's golf is to drop the handicap to 6 at least hopefully

Very nice play. Solid off the tee. 4-5 over is what I'd expect from 9hcp over 9 holes which you did. Could easily have been 1-2 strokes better...but that's golf.

Oh hundred percent. At 7-9 Hcp you’re still quite erratic. By erratic I don’t mean you’ll go and play an 18 over round. But you might one day play a 77 round and the next play an 85 round. The goal is to become more consistent. Wherever the consistency is.

Was this a good round for you? What is the course rating and slope? At 3500 yds for 9 holes (7000 for 18), most courses in the US would be rated north of 74.0 (unless they’re at a high elevation) so shooting +4 over 9 holes (+8 over 18) would roughly equate to a 6 handicap differential and most likely a lot lower when you factor in slope (I’m guessing the slope would be somewhere in the 130’s which would mean this is more like a 4-5 handicap differential)
@ShaanTahirGolf
@ShaanTahirGolf 11 ай бұрын
So the rating for this course is 74.5 and the slope rating is around 131. I don't know how the formula works but according to this formula my hcp should be lower? I do have to say that this is not one of my best rounds. My game was better till a few months back then it took a dip. I had come down to a 7. But its difficult to consistently break 80 even when I was playing well.

@@ShaanTahirGolf Your handicap is calculated by the average of your best 8 rounds over the course of a 20 round period. So if you consider this not one of your better days id safely say you're closer to a 6 handicap. I'm a 7 handicap and shooting 82,83,84 is a pretty average day for me.

I am also a 9 handicap, age 73, play the course at 5,500 yards. Looking at your game I would say your driving is about a 5 handicap, iron and fairway play, about a 7 handicap, and short game (including putting) a 16. Divide the result by 3 and you come up with 9 and know where to put in the work. With a better short game you could become a 5 or 6.

The occasional bogey seems to be due to shots rather shy of the green, leaving you with a mandatory up and and down to make par. As a result you might find useful to select a longer club or practice a lot at hitting straight and solid strokes to greens or similar targets. A 9-handicap could then quickly move to scratch 😊.

I had had a couple of other comments regarding this as well and I can see why that would look strange but I take my practice swing just next to the ball which I obviously cut out in editing to make the video shorter. I played golf for a very long time and have seen many different types of 9.0 handicaps, some hit their driver well but their irons are very inconsistent, or poor driving but their wedge game and putter are pretty good, and the more rare, tee to green they hit it like a 2.0 but around and on the greens are horrible. Then there is the 9.0 handicap cheater that is actually a 4.0 or lower. My and I friend where playing in a weekly skins/low gross/low net game and a blind draw team game that patterned a low hand. With a high hand. player. This was very well known game that had been around for 30 years and drew a least 60 players and you had to show up early to get a spot. So our group is just in front of a group who has this guy who was a 9 or 10 handicap and had been consistently winning for the past 2 months. So of course we are watching this guy and from the tee box behind a the green on a long par 5 he nails a 3w onto the green and makes the putt for eagle, and because the next tee was backed up we waive his group up to hit on a long par 3 with water on both sides of the green, he hits the flag stick on the fly and stops about 8 feet, we were laughing because it was so absurd. Needlessly to say he was knocked down to a 3 handicap and he never played that game again.

I maybe wrong but in my opinion a person is genuinely the hcp they say they are when they play about 3-4 shots better or worse than their hcp. So a 9 hcp player suddenly plays around 5 over a day but then plays 12 over the next too. I think when a 9 hcp player plays 2 over on a day, then they should not be that hcp. There are so many people I know like that. There is a lot of betting golf here too so people manage their hcps because they want to win these matches. Every now and then you see someone's hcp go down suddenly because they have come into the publics eye like the story you mentioned above. Overall, hcp is a tricky business.. I honestly don't know anywhere it is managed perfectly..

@@ShaanTahirGolfSomething i have seen but havent done yet is mark wedges. Lee Westwood(pro) actually uses a sharpie and marks his wedges for distance on full and half shots. Im too OCD so i couldnt mark head like he does but i think i’ll use tape on shaft. Brilliant idea. He knows his 50 degree goes 125 and 60, can then adjust swing for variation. Now do that with 3-4 wedges and i can absolutely see how more pinpoint distances can get much easier. As far as putting, you could do a Tiger method. He putted 1 handed from 3,6,9,12 ft, 100 each, and if he missed he started over. 😳😳. I would do more like 2 handed 20 each. I could see that repetition pay dividends just in confidence alone not to mention how many more putts we would hole. I practiced more than normal last yr and can honestly say 5-6 footers were automatic. Didnt practice this yr and 5-6 footers killed me. 🤷🏼‍♂️. PS. Im an 8.8 so were same same.

@@fuzzybanana9128 thank you for spending the time to type all of this down. I am sure to check these videos out. I really do think I can lower my hcp with a little more dedicated and directed practice which I am hoping to do over the next few months. I hope you see more videos where I start playing better and improve my short game. Thank you.

Awesome golf, seen you hit quite a few of thin shots which made you come up short on some greens.

Thank you for watching. Yes, I was swinging too fast. Not staying on top of the ball. Watching your own videos actually helps since its instant feedback.
