What A Cartoon! - Godfrey and Zeek in "Lost Control"

I always loved this short as a kid. Rob Paulsen and Tom Kenny make a great pair, two prominent voices of my childhood (even they basically make Godrey and Zeek sound like Heffer Wolfe and Pinky). I especially loved the Plunger Boy educational short film, particularly when he suddenly turns all threatening and scary when talking about the emergency shutdown levers.

Tom Kenny and Rob Paulsen are in this short. Kenny voiced a giraffe (Godfrey) by using Heffer’s voice while Paulsen did a pig (Zeek) by using Pinky’s voice with a few enhancements.

I had the privilege to speak briefly with this short’s creator Zac Moncrief back in 2014. He was nice. He once said that he chose Tom Kenny and Rob Paulsen for the lead characters because he couldn’t see anyone else for them other than those two.

What A Cartoons really ran the gamut of "This could make a great show, it's a shame it wasn't picked up" to "Why would you ever think this could make a full series? It doesn't even work as a short." This was one of the latter.

Not too surprising, given that John Kricfalusi was one of Genndy's influences. He even admitted that "Dexter's Laboratory" was basically his answer to "Ren and Stimpy," and featured several of the same artists from the Games Animation-era episodes (many of which worked on these "What a Cartoon" shorts as well).

However, I think I'll be ordering that Jonny Quest VHS, so look out for me uploading that one! I'm an original What a Cartoon! enthusiast (obviously) so I'm always watching out for lost originals and uploading the ones I have and ones I find elsewhere.
