The reason the videos look like this is bc these are like the first music videos. This was the dawning of the MTV era.Just being able to see your favorite artist in your own home was a brand new thing and we couldnt get enough of it. its interesting to watch the evolution of Madonna videos over the decades. I believe this is her very first video.

Her first ever music video! She was given a $1500 budget to film this video. Crazy to think she was spending $5 million + on music videos in the 2000's :)

This song and video were released in 1982. This was Madonna very first single and video (a very low budget video). It was a very big club hit (peaked #'03 on Dance Charts back then) but was not a major mainstream hit (after "Holiday" became a big hit this song was then much more played on radios on the following 3/4 years).

This was done in Danceteria NYC!!! It was her first charting single on Billboard, peaking at #3 on the dance charts in 1982. She also had her first TV appaerance in the United States with this on Dancing On Air in 1982!!!

Her brother was in other videos and live performances from the early days, not everybody though. He’s in her lucky star video and would later art direct some of her tours.

She did a couple of remastered. A promo concert for Confessions and The Girlie Show. Both performances were amazing.

This was her first single off the album, and it was an unabashed dance song (.i.e. given the demise of disco music and dance in 1979). I would argue that both she and MJ popularized dance music once again for the 80s. This video was filmed in one of the dance clubs she used to frequent, I believe. Fun fact: Her younger brother is in the video and would later stage her concerts, starting with Blonde Ambition Tour, etc.

Baby Madonna, her first single from 1982. Seymour Stien the gay label boss paid $1000 out of his own money to have it made but MTV rejected it because they didn't think it fit their format. In 83 when Warner had Little Red Corvette by Prince and her next single Burning Up which were also rejected they did what sony did to get Michael Jackson on and pull all their music from the channel unless they played P and Mo. Funny the three stars that made MTV as big as it was they didn't want on the channel. This song, Donna Summer's I Feel Love and Shannon's Let Music the Play are the foundation of EDM.
