Andy Hogg who knows, we are getting further into winter as we go now, so it’s just lucky if we get a good day. Last Sunday was storm Alex with torrential rain all day arm localised flooding. It didn’t take long for Pete and I to decide not to go out. I’ll ride in most weathers, but 5 hours of heavy rain non stop isn’t much fun and would be impossible to film anything. #vloggingexcuses 🙄

Enjoy watching the Mendip Cycling vlogs. It's inspiring watching you ride and I've learnt a lot about good places to ride locally; Canada Coombe and Monks Hill, Redhill, Woolland Hill (still to do), Stawell (a.k.a. Slow Crank Hill), the path that goes between Uphill and Brean, The Strawberry Line, the climb from Watchet to Raleigh's Cross, and Turnhill climb (High Ham). It was fun watching Darren do a strong effort up the 33% leg breaker segment (Sawpit Lane). Also enjoyed the Woolavington Hill 2m 30sec challenge video. The highlight for me is the Bath Two Tunnels. I had to get on the bike ASAP and ride up there. They didn't disappoint and very grateful to learn about them. I started watching at the beginning of lockdown. I searched KZbin for "Draycott Steep", found your video and went from there. I've noticed the videos have become more professional as time goes on. For example, better video quality, less of a contrast between volume levels on the music and speaking parts. Happy first birthday to the vlog! Look forward to many more.

Thanks Pete, you’ve been probably the most consistent commenter on the videos, which makes you officially out Superfan. As I said in the video, I’ve learnt so much about editing over the past year, and although I know I still have so much to learn and want to find out how to do different things and hopefully bring them to improve the vlogs. I’ll wait to see if you notice any!!

thanks Ade, yes, don’t judge the early videos 🙄 I was still working out how to use the software, source a decent microphone and find the best way to film and produce a vlog. I’ve made many mistakes, but learnt from them all. Believe me when I say, I am my own biggest critic!!

Yesterdays route was awesome! Really enjoyed the ride! Shame about the cafe, it really was the coldest hot chocolate ever 😂 Personal favourites for me include searching for the Giraffes at Longleat, the ride to Clevedon along The Strawberry Line, The Chippenham Challenge and our ride to Watchet! But if I had to pick a winner... It would be our Crowcombe ride! I can't wait to explore more and more new roads. Bring on the next 12 months!
