Both girls did well today - the Number 1 seed won quite rightly. But we will be seeing a lot more of Zheng . She is such a fighter and technically very good. We love her.

Zheng did amazing. She was blown away by Saba in US Open but this time she got a set and fought hard in sets 1&3 only down a break so it was close. Saba just had too much power but Zheng gave herself a fighting chance and this is her best result against Saba.

Zheng finally got a set from Saba. Set 3 Zheng fought hard and got back 2 breaks but lost it so it was close. Next time Zheng will win.

El enojo de Zheng con el juez de linea expuso la enorme presión q tenía encima, para sus 22 años recién cumplidos es comprensible, incluso el gran Roger superó esto. Si Zheng sigue jugando con Sabalenka, le va a ganar uno de estos días. Tiene bastante poder en su revés.

Sabalenka is undoubtable a great player but that screaming has got to go ,this level of screaming should never have been allowed,can you imagine playing against this screaming .Is she doing this intentionally to put off her a opponent .God help her ,she must go from the screaming session straight to a therapy session.

Other players do the same. Sharapova is the loudest then Serena Williams and Azarenka all make sounds. But most players are quiet. Not sure how all the noise helps as it takes energy to shout.

Sabalenka's grunts are not natural, it's for intimidation, that's what she's employing it for. Her grunts have gotten louder & louder, it drowns the shot sound her strokes are making, & her opponent can't figure out whether it's a topspin, slice, or drop shot, etc. It's really cheating. She started to win more corresponding to the loudness of her grunts. Now she's doing it all the time.

Yeah that was weird. The line judge is standing where he should stand and didn't seem to be in the way. But in future tournament they're going to do away with line judge and going all in on computer.

The Chinese crowd is extremely one sided. Though it's understandable for the home crowd but the few clapping really highlighted how bad they are. It's all about winning but not about the love of the sport. Kind of like Zheng's attitude toward the sport.
