@@petrastein2531 no they didnt write it in. Grujnot is half right. Its not an accident take and they then used it. He did it like Grujnot said to stretch out the soreness and thought they would want him to redo it, but instead they liked it and asked him to keep doing it take after take, until they were done with the scene. Wasnt one and done, but definitely wasnt in a scripit. They dont write movements into scripts usually.

@@NikstSWE "To write something in the script" is not to be meant literally. :) Like you said, they've seen him do it and then they have written it in that specific scene (because initially his character was not meant to do it). Loved that Henry was the "silent" bad guy. You should watch the cast on The Graham Norton Show about this movie. It's hilarious and awesome! Tom breaking his ankle halted production for 6 months not a few days. When they came back to filming, Rebecca was actually pregnant (which they joke about on the Graham Norton Show, Season 22, Episode 15) and Tom's ankle was not fully healed.

36:43 Rebecca Ferguson's Ilsa Faust is the best part about this movie. And thats saying something considering how many great things Fallout contain.
@L0ad1ng45Ай бұрын
I still think Fallout is the best in the franchise. The first could win on sentimental reasons, but I think Fallout represents the series at its highest potential to date. I also loved Ghost Protocol because it nailed the aspect of everything going as wrong as possible better than even the first movie did imo. Particularly, the scene where the IMF Secretary gets shot in the car, immediately after telling Ethan that Ghost Protocol had been initiated, and he and his team were outlaws and had no resources. Lures the viewer into a false sense that Ethan is temporarily safe, only to be fired on instantly after being betrayed by his government. I know that basically happens every movie, but that means it's less impactful when they do it, you come to expect it. The way it was presented with a much more somber tone in this one made it that much more powerful. Rogue Nation was amazing, but ends up taking a backseat to Fallout. Dead Reckoning was also good, but almost felt disrespectful in how they kind of discarded Ilsa's character, it didn't feel like she needed to die, and the whole wasted angle of her finally being free since she's assumed dead lessened the emotional impact of her death for me, since it just felt frustrating, and was even more frustrating when he grieves for like 20 seconds and instantly moves on to Grace. Ilsa got done dirty. Arguably more importantly, I personally don't think Gabriel feels as intimidating or dangerous as they want him to, or already think he does. How is it that Ethan's true archnemesis and greatest rival, since the very beginning, has never once been mentioned? The buildup for Solomon made that character work so much better. Still have high hopes for Part 2 though.

The biggest and best of the bunch. Christopher Mcquarrie as director just raising the bar even more than before to a major level. In IMAX, it was a must see and no way you saw it first in another format. Henry Cavill as August Walker (wow). Vanessa Kirby as The White Widow and daughter of a character from M-I:1 (cool). Baldwin & Bassett as the bosses (hell yeah). Early 2019; Cruise, Paramount and Skydance annouced back to back sequels. One for 2021 and one for 2022. Of course, everything was pushed back and all worth waiting for. Glad you enjoyed all the missions so far. M-I:7, Dead Reckoning was incredible too and you won't be disappointed.

They need to setup a better Imax contract for the next movie. For Dead Reckoning, it got snubbed at only 2 weeks in Imax because of Oppenheimer, which was in Imax for idk, what..5 weeks? I was never really a Mission Impossible fan until I saw this one. I generally liked Ghost Protocol when I first saw it in Imax, but it didn't _really_ stick with me until I rewatched it all after this. Rogue Nation had some great stunts but I couldn't tell you the plot. But this one came in and just completely blew my mind when I saw it in theaters. I like how Hunt seems a lot more vulnerable here, in spite of fighting an awesome fight scene in the bathroom he ultimately loses, in spite of him operating all manner of vehicle it turns out he can't fly a helicopter, in spite of being such a badass he has nightmares and guilt and a lot of remorse for actions taken or not taken. The addition of Henry Cavill as a reluctant ally turned villain was phenomenal, man excels in spy thrillers as we know from The Man From U.N.C.L.E. The action scenes in this from hand to hand fights to car chases to helicopter battles were amazing. And of course the twists were genuinely surprising and really clever, I think I had the same reaction as Oak internally during that same scene.

As a Norwegian it's my civic duty to mention that Mission Impossible, over the course of this movie and the next, make it a habit of filming scenes in the scenic landscapes of Norway, and then label them in the movies as somewhere else. Happens to a lesser degree in MI: Fallout as it's just the final boss battle (Tom Cruise vs Henry Cavill), filmed at Preikestolen in Norway, but in the movie they say it's somewhere in Asia. It happens to a greater extent in Dead Reckoning pt.1, though I wont spoil anything in particular about said sequence as a fairly large chunk of the movie that was filmed here in Norway, a portion of said filming here in Norway also included the poster stunt of the movie. That small annoyance aside, Fallout, Dead Reckoning pt.1 and Ghost Protocol are by far my favorites of the Mission Impossible franchise, amazing movies altogether. Looking forward to the Dead Reckoning reaction!

I asked BingAI if Tom Cruise actually did a real HALO jump in this movie and here is what it said: "Yes, Tom Cruise did perform a real High Altitude Low Opening (HALO) jump for the movie “Mission: Impossible - Fallout”. To execute this stunt, Cruise inhaled pure oxygen for 20 minutes on the ground to avoid decompression sickness before jumping out of a plane at 25,000 feet. The filmmakers only had one chance a day to get the shot because it was a nighttime sequence, filmed as close to sunset as possible. This was one of the most dangerous stunts in cinema history. You can watch the behind-the-scenes featurette and the full scene on KZbin."

For future reference, if the question to seeing anything Tom Cruise do on screen is "Did he really do that?", the answer is always yes. He really did the Halo jump, the helicopter piloting and every other crazy thing you see. There is a running joke on TC just doing these MI movies to eventually die making one.
@mycroft169 ай бұрын
So a HALO jump is 25,000+ feet. And cruise did 106 dives from 25,000 feet to capture all the footage for the 3 shots shown in the sequence. He did this with a healing broken ankle from an accident earlier in the shoot. They had to create a brand new HALO jump mask so you could see Cruise's face. They also had to create a new helmet mounted film camera for the camera man who also did the jumps with Cruise. They wouldn't let Cavill do any of the jumps, hence the fogged up mask for the other guy. They did the jumps over Dubai and composited Paris and the storm in in post production. They really did the chase scene... actually Cruise, on a motorcycle, no helmet, real traffic. And he learned to fly a helicopter for that chase so they could show he was the only person in the chopper with outside mounted cameras. Because he really is alone in it, flying all of that, including the death spiral stunt. Cruise operates on another level. Especially since that building jump scene he snapped his ankle, you can see it in shot, his toes are nearly touching his knee. He climbed up the side as planned and hobbled off on a broken ankle to complete the shot. That the shot in the film. For the bathroom fight, they built the bathroom and a lot of it is made of foam rubber so they can actually do the throws and smash through things, hit sinks etc without getting badly injured. But they really did all that choreography. One of the best fights.

Y’all should check out “The Man from U.N.C.L.E”(Henry Caville) and “Knight and Day”(Tom Cruise).

I'd love to say I've been here through all the movies, but I just wanted to swing by to rewatch Cavill's arms reload scene. God that's such a cool move...

I think Oak would enjoy The Man from UNCLE with Henry Cavill! Would love to see a reaction to that. I don’t enjoy the spy genre either, but thoroughly enjoyed that movie.

Did you get the reference to the first movie? The widow speak about Max, who wanted the NOC-list
@basantchaudhary85719 ай бұрын
White widow in her intro scene was speaking about Max… her mother, is her the sophisticated lady and baddie in first MI after the list. Is it the same Max from first movie? I assumed so but it was not confirmed anywhere…

I think its interesting no one makes the connection that the White Widow is the daughter of Max, the lady from the first movie.

It has happened a few times, but there has been media gags. Back in 1986 my partner caught #4 most wanted on FBI list who had escaped custody broke out by his girlfriend. My partner did a tail kick off a Mountain Bike to take the guy down.
