I liked how the show hinted that Varney was Death or at least some major character throughout the season : - people described Varney as smelling like a rotting corpse - his eyes are different than any other vampire in the series - the fact that Varnet said that death nourishes him - holy water didn't affect him at all at the undergrounds of Targoviste - he said that he's from London before it was called London back when the romans were still there making him old af

Lenore hasn't seen a sunrise in 200 years and while she's literally burning an excruciating death, she chose to stare at Hector in her final moments instead. Lenore's death was one of the most beautiful things I've ever watched. She died on her own terms like the Queen she is. She's one of my favourite Castlevania characters and I'm gonna really miss her.

One thing I noticed is that most vampires burn when their bodies are killed. I don’t think she suffered “an excruciating death” given how fast she turned to ash. That’s one thing I don’t get. Does dying to sunlight cause a different reaction than other methods of death?

Given how other vampires react to sunlight in the show, I'm willing to bet Lenore was in pain but just soldiered through it since this is what she wanted. She had no regrets and somewhat numbed herself. Think True Blood and when Godric died. He was definitely in pain but enjoyed the release that death afforded him.

Loved this ending. One of the best endings for a show. They deserved that happy ending after everything they’ve been through. Can’t wait for the next series. Who knows, we may end up getting an anime about Soma, but that would be way down the line.

Might be wrong but I got the impression the higher ups of Drac's court knew Varney was Death. Hector warned against trusting him and Dracula sent him to take out the city that first incurred his wrath. He literally set Death upon them for killing his wife. Also the badass final vampire they fought and the witches seemed to be serving him with no questions asked, whereas other 'hired' help would constantly shit talk him. Can you imagine how strong a sane Dracula would be with all his forces? Himself, Death, Isaac, Hector, the witches, all the Night Creatures in like the ENITRE show (since I think they all come from Hector/Isaac), and the legions upon legions of vampires? I dont think anyone could come close to stopping his whole court together. Them vs the rest of the verse and I think they'd win easily. ALSO as for Drac's wife, I think she 'unfairly' got sent to hell like the Bug Demon. Seems like you go to hell for super minor infractions, so either like having a kid with Drac (who is 'eViL') or like practicing her medicine or whatever probably got her sent to hell.

This show was a masterclass in adult animation as a whole. It was stunning. My only criticism is that I wish the timeskip was 16 weeks instead of 6. It would've added more gravity to some characters and given a chance to stretch out their development. Especially the vampire sisters, Hector and Isaac. IMO, Carmilla Vs Isaac should've happened at episode 8.

We'll get another Dracula fight in the future! Next arc will be Richter, and his Dracula fight is probably like THE most popular one in the series. They even use that version of Dracula as a boss in Super Smash Bros, and in the KZbin Deathbattle series. Its the standard human form then into the big lizardy demon mode. I mean they dont go 1:1 with the games at all but I'd be surprised if we dont get that version of Dracula at some point.
